The memory of the nightmare was almost lost with the chaos of the morning and mess of terror and delight that was yesterday. However, the sight of your own bed allowed the memory of that haunting illusion to slowly creep back into your head. Though you tried to ask him to stay he simply vanished before you could finish speaking leaving you alone in your room. Resting a hand on your bed thoughts repeated the words that were spoken by that mangled figure "It's not over yet." You had already known that was the case, after all, while Valentino had been killed early thanks to your cries, Vox was still alive. Alive and more than likely agitated at the sudden loss of what was undoubtedly going to be his prized possession. Though you didn't want to think about it the fight was not yet over, the mind control device was created by Vox and as long as he lived there would be no safety. Thoughts feared that he'd try his luck once again or create more and use them on all member of the hotel. The problem was obvious but the solution was not, no deal would grant the power to kill an overlord, Alastor lacked the power on his own, the princess would never agree to kill, you had no means to amass an army, and there would more than likely be no way to stealthily kill him. A small sigh escaped you once again as you sat on your bed, pulling knees closer towards your chest as thoughts ran wild trying to think of solutions. Those same thoughts instantly becoming distracted by the scent that still clung to clothes, blood, earth, and lusts sweet perfume, a combination that normally only knew misery. Despite the cold and the worry a small smile couldn't help but work its way onto your face "I'll more then likely need to talk to him, hopefully he'll think of the same thing as well and we can figure out a way to put an end to this madness" thoughts whispered. There was no clue on what to do in the meantime though. You had thought briefly about heading back to work but there was no desire to leave the hotel now that you had pissed off an overlord, there was no way of knowing all who worked for him or if he would bother to put out a bounty for a sinner, not to mention that such low payment would no longer suffice. Going out in public in any way shape or form would more then likely be a bad idea without some way to disguise yourself but at the same time there would only be so much time that you could spend in the hotel before the girls would begin to ask if something happened at work. "One problem for seven others" you thought to yourself. "Worst case scenario I just say that all the recent attacks have me scared and I don't want to leave, that should be more than enough to satisfy questions" you thought. Reaching over to your nightstand there was the hope to grab your phone and try to see if there was anything public about the incident but fingers only touched the wooden surface where your phone normally lied when not in use. "Fuck" looking over at the nightstand it only now occurred to you that you never got your phone back from when you first dropped it yesterday, while it was password protected you still didn't want your phone left with another, especially with the one app that was installed on it. A small sigh escaped as you got off the bed, though you didn't want to you were going to need your phone. Swapping into another outfit thoughts once again quickly whispered out questions that may be asked as well as answers that could be given as a response. Claws had just barley tapped against the metallic handle when a softer knock met ears. A moment was all that was needed to once again put on the mask of an adapting sinner, once dawned there was no reason not to answer. Eyes fell upon the princess as the door was pulled back "Good morning (Y/N)! I just wanted to stop by to let you know that breakfast will be ready soon" she said. You couldn't help but be taken aback a bit "Oh, it's 8 already?" you questioned. "Yes, why?" you paused for a moment, usually you had been up fear earlier due to work or lack of sleep. "I just, didn't expect it to be that time already" you said "Thank you for letting me know, give me a moment and I'll join you." Kicking down the door stop you left the door open as you turned to quickly put on your shoes "By any chance have you or Vaggie seen my phone?" you asked "I think I dropped it in the lobby yesterday." "Oh! Yes, don't worry we found it though uh... the screen ended up getting cracked" she said "Don't worry about it I'll get you a new one later today" she assured. "I'll have to see it, if the touch screen still works, I wouldn't bother replacing it" you replied as you turned back towards her. Walking out into the hallway you closed the door behind you and began to walk with Charlie towards the dinning hall. "I'm sorry but it doesn't, we turned it on just to see how bad it was and half of the password screen is stuck on one color" she explained "I'll get another as soon as I can but it will take time, if you're working today then I'll have it by the time you come back" she said. Since she had brought it up you figured there would be no harm in giving your half truth sooner rather than later. "I'm not working today..." you trailed of for a moment "I don't think I'll be returning to work for a while" you said softly. "What? Why? Did something happen?" Charlie questioned. "Well... with everything that's happened, I no longer feel safe going outside. Well, I mean I never did feel safe considering that this is hell, but now I really want to stick close to those I can trust" you explained. "I'm sorry but I'm just worried, I don't want to walk outside and be shot or grabbed while out of sight" you finished. She looked sad for a moment but gave a softer smile "No no, it's alright, I get it. I don't blame you for wanting to stick close to us. Things have been a mess as of late" she admitted. "It should all be over now but if you still feel uneasy you can stay inside for as long as you feel it's needed" she said. Something felt off about her words, as though she was trying to force herself to be positive once more. Thoughts questioned whether she had come to a similar conclusion, that the death of the overlord would no doubt spark the anger of another. "I'm glad you understand" you replied. She still seemed somewhat on edge as you continued walking, so determined to keep up the facade that it showed through. Wanting to somewhat ease the stress you spoke again "You know now that I think about it, I was so busy with work before that I never had the chance to join in any of the hotels activities." Her smile seemed to become more genuine and child like "That's right! You never got to do any of the activities I planned." Her energy and true joy seemed to slip back into her. "Ok, right after we fix up Angels room, I'll schedule something fun for us all to do!"
