       I didn't sleep at all that night. I got up the next morning and tried to walk out quietly so no one could hear me. Unfortunately, I met Jaquez in the living room. I froze when I saw him and the memory of that night came back again. I immediately felt awkward so I focused on something else. 

       His face was just a yellowish bruise now, thanks to the lycan speed healing and my own eye was able to open all the way and it was yellowing, although there was still a cut in my lip. 

       He looked over at me and I looked away, walking towards the door. I still felt bad about yesterday, but I also felt awkward around him now. He was one of my best friends, my pack mates, and knowing that he felt that way towards me made me feel like I should avoid him for a while. This situation made me think of Victoria's friend, Damian. 

       I hadn't really talked to him before, and Victoria didn't really talk about him, but it was obvious that he felt something for her, whenever I had seen him around her, it was like she was a magnet for him. I knew that they had hooked up a couple of times before her and Nick decided to finally mate, and I think that only made it worse for him, though I had no idea how Tori felt about it. 

       I cleared away all of my thoughts and focused on my current mission. Go to Leo's and talk it out with him. He was still ignoring my calls so I'll have to find him. 

       I went to his apartment but the door was locked so I grabbed the spare key over the eave and unlocked the door. I walked inside and everything was quiet. He wasn't here, so I locked the door back and walked into his room. 

       I wasn't sure how long I waited but I had fallen asleep and it was dark by the time I woke up. Leo was there beside me, one arm underneath me as he stared at the ceiling. I turned and laid my head on his chest and his grip tightened around me. 

       "You've been ignoring me," I said quietly. 

       "I've been angry. I'm trying not to do something that I'll regret later," he responded. I nodded and and got up to lean over him.

       "I'm sorry. It really was my fault. I shouldn't have gotten so mad at him. I didn't mean to-" 

       "I'd rather not talk about it. I'm sorry for ignoring you, I was just upset," he interrupted. I nodded and leaned down to kiss him, wanting to ease the tension somehow. 

         He pulled away, resting his forehead against mine with his eyes closed. Suddenly, my phone rang and I answered Tori's call. 

        "Yeah?" 

        "The pic I posted of you on Instagram is blowing up and an agent just contacted me and they want to make you a model. We did research and she's legit," she answered. 

        "A model? That's funny," I said with a laugh. 

        "Will you just come here when you have the chance," she said. I told her I'd be there in the morning and she hung up. I put the phone away and looked down at Leo's amused face. 

         "What," I asked. 

         "Nothing. Just trying to imagine you as a model," he said with a smirk and I rolled my eyes.

         "Oh come on. I am not modeling. That would require wearing dresses and makeup and people will take pictures and I'll have to pose and it's just a big fat no." I gave him a stern look and he laughed. 

         "Those are just excuses. You only live once Gem," he said quietly and I rolled my eyes again. 

         "Yes. I live once for centuries. That's not going to change my decision."
