Looking in the mirror for the umpteenth time in the last hour, I sigh.
I'm wearing white ripped jeans, a grey v-neck, my favorite red flannel and my brown boots.
Am I under dressed? Will he like it? I keep questioning myself.
I'm really freaking nervous. Today was me and Shawn's first date after 5 months of knowing each other.
"(Y/N), Shawn's at the door!" My father shouted from the bottom of the stairs.
"I- uh, coming dad!" I shout back, checking myself over in the mirror one last time. Holy shit, this is it!
Once I make it down the stairs, I see Shawn at the door and my jaw drops. He looks as handsome as ever and I never get used to it.
"(Y/N), You look- gorgeous. Wow." He speaks in a low voice, giving me a more-than-once over, nodding in appreciation.
My cheeks flush red and I look down to the floor, playing with my hands. "Thanks. You do too. I- I mean you look handsome. Not that boys can't be gorgeous because they can, I'm not saying it's bad or anything-"
"(Y/N)" Shawn chuckles, amused by my nervous rant.
"Have her home by 9 PM Shawn, no later. I'm trusting you with my baby girl, don't let me regret it," My father warned, but truthfully he loved Shawn just as much as the rest of my family. He was a real charmer.
"Yes sir, no later than 9. Thank you for letting me take your daughter out." Shawn shakes his hand before gently grasping mine and leading me towards the car.
He opens the door for me and helps me up, before closing it and making his way to the drivers seat.
"So, where are we going?" I question, getting comfortable. I was told to dress casual but that's all I know.
"It's a secret, Princess. It's not too far away."
Knowing he wasn't going to answer,I hooked my phone up to the radio and started belting out the lyrics to life of the party for old times sake.
~~~~~
Fifteen minutes later we had arrived at a pond a few miles away from the town center.
Shawn helped me out of the car and led me over to a wharf, where I noticed a little boat sitting peacefully on the water. In the boat there was a blanket set out and a picnic basket. Looking back to Shawn, I noticed he was nervous, worried I wouldn't like it.
How the fuck could I not like this? This is amazing!
Walking over to Shawn, I embrace him in a hug before we both hop in the boat carefully and Shawn takes us to the middle of the lake.
"This is really thoughtful of you Shawn!" I gushed, staring at my surroundings in awe.
"Thanks (Y/N), but it wasn't exactly me... Aliyah helped.." He blushed.
"Awww." I cooed, pinching his cheeks.
Shawn chuckled and eventually stopped rowing and just let us float around, turning to the picnic box, he pulled out some sandwiches cut into little triangles.
I immediately get excited, I don't know why but I love triangle sandwiches. Call me weird if you please.
"Yum!" I giggle.
He continues pulling out fruit and some mini muffins, setting everything down on the space little table between us.
