Nothing has changed

I sipped on my wine gently while looking at the whole venue. I never thought to finished all my hard works. Ang saya rin sa feeling na magaan na ang loob sa iyo ng lahat. Medyo napawi ang ngiti ko sa sinabi. I also hope that I am now happy. Winala ko sa isip ang sinabi. Ano ka ba, hello April? You're now an architect and did many successful projects! You shouldn't be bothered with your past anymore. 

"Bess, do you know about the new building na naitayo sa Catipulo? The one who led that project became the topic of the magazine! Never heard who's that, though." Kinuha ni Paige ang wine glass niya at nakipag toast sa akin. Napatulala ako. Catipulo. Just one word, I could remember all the memories I made there. Scenes flashed on my mind. Nilibang ko nalang ang sarili sa katabi para hindi na maalala pa.

"Where's your fiancee? Darating pa ba iyon?" wala sa sarili kong sabi. 

Humagikgik si Paige sa aking sinabi. Umirap ako, naughty girl! 

"May inasikaso lang daw sa bahay nila. You know, only boy in their family.." tumango nalang ako.

Many guests have arrived. The event that held here is about my father's birthday celebration and also my celebration of finishing this hotel I made. My father supported me on building this hotel even at the very beginning. Sinabay niya na rin ang kaarawan niya.

"By the way, the one I mentioned earlier. Pupunta raw dito." kumunot ang noo ko. I checked the guests list at kilala ang mga pupunta rito but I suddenly got confused on what she said. It means may bisita pa pala na hindi ko alam? Is this papa's guest?

Nilapitan ko si Papa. I let him finish his talks with some of the guests. Nang matapos ang pag uusap nila ay napansin niya ako. I smiled.

"Oh! My architect.." he laughed like a santa claus. I smiled wider with what he said. Finally, I felt the true success, making my parents proud. "Engineer.." I said. I remembered when my father was so happy back then when I told him that I wanted to be an architect when I grow up. The same happiness I saw before is still what I am seeing today. 

"Happy Birthday.." Hindi ko na maalala kung pang ilan na bati ko na sakaniya ito. He deserves it anyways. Even he treated me hard before just to make me learn. I hugged him.

Kahit sobrang sakit nang naramdaman at pinagdaanan ko noon, hindi pa rin ako nagsisisi. If they never stopped us from a relationship we couldn't handle, maybe we didn't have what we have now. I learned to let go of my old innocent heart. Hindi naman siguro sobrang inosente. I was a rebel before, a stubborn. Someone changed me. But I think I should be thankful for what he had done for me. My first love taught me everything. Madali lang naman siguro na kalimutan ang lahat.. but feelings, I don't think so.

Bumalik na ako sa upuan namin kanina. Now, Paige is with his fiancee. My best friend is very happy, I have nothing more to wish but this. 

"Put more please.." I commanded to the waiter. Sa sobrang focus ko sa paglalagay sa akin ng wine, I almost ignored my best friend. Binalingan ko siya.

"What?"

"Omg, the engineer I was talking about! Andiyan na siya!" Nataranta rin ako sa sinabi niya. Bumilis ang tibok ng puso ko sa hindi alam na dahilan. I gazed to the front door. Hindi ko masilayan ng maayos marahil maraming nagaabang sa kaniya.

"Ano raw ang pangalan?" I went back to my best friend. Tinignan niya ako ng mabuti at may bahid ng pag aalinlangan sa mukha. What the hell is happening?

"B-bess, the engineer i-is..." tinignan ko siya nang mabuti. Bakit ba siya nagkakaganito? What is wrong!

"Engineer Kairo Jax Carter.." 

Bumagal ang tibok ng puso ko. My vision feels like shaking. Binalingan ko muli ang nasa front door. Now, I can clearly see him. And now, for sure.. I'm confused.
