It's been three weeks since Shuichi's little episode. Kaede and Miu stopped bringing groceries in person. They usually leave it at his door step while knocking.
There was a knock on the door. It wasn't Miu and Kaede's knock so it had to be someone else.
The blue haired male slipped out of bed, his feet hitting the cold, wooden floor. He felt as heavy as lead, feet almost dragging against the floor. He opened the door but he was met with a shock.
"R-Rantaro? I didn't expect you to be here!" He yelped, words getting caught in his throat. The taller male laughed. "I'm sorry, I should've called." He ruffled the detective's hair, thoroughly messing it up.
Shuichi huffed and fixed it quickly, blushing profusely. But was it from embarrassment or just the fact Rantaro was here to see him? He didn't know.
The green-haired male welcomed himself in, leaving the smaller male to close the door. Sitting down, Rantaro waited patiently for the detective. "So... Kaede told me she was worried for you..."
Saihara flinched, wincing. He didn't want to hear one bit of this but when Rantaro was worried about his friends, there was really no stopping him from getting to the bottom of the case. 'Friends... Right...' He sighed, finally locking the door.
Amami looked at Shuichi, patting the seat next to him. "C'mon, Shuichi, what's wrong?" Worry and concern laced his smooth voice. Shuichi found it soothing. His face warmed up more.
Sitting down hesitantly, the detective sat next to the adventurer. He swallowed hard, shuffling away slightly. He tried to make it unnoticeable. Unfortunately, Rantaro was a very observant person. "Look, Shuichi, we're all worried about you! Kaede, Miu, Kaito, Maki... Me." He made sure he put emphasis on the word 'me'. Shuichi winced again.
"I don't expect you to tell me exactly what's going on but just tell me why you've been locking yourself in." Shuichi knew there was no getting out of this one.
"I... I just... I'm sorry, there was this case that was wrecking my brain." He lied. Spending time with Kokichi really heightened his ability to lie. Amami believed him. "Maybe I could help?" He suggested.
Though the Detective was tempted to accept the offer, he actually had no cases he could use. Besides, he didn't want to burden his crush. So instead he shook his head. "It's fine Amami."
Rantaro nodded and got up. "Well, I have to go now. It was nice spending time with you Saihara. I'll come back tommorow?" He smiled kindly at Shuichi. The smaller male gulped and waved goodbye at the Adventurer. "... Sure."

Quiet. It was so quiet. Shuichi was told to stay and work from home since a lot of people from his agency were getting targeted for murder. They couldn't lose one of their best detectives.
The soft tap, tap, tapping of rain against the window could be heard. Shuichi was restless. 'What time was it?' He didn't know, and to be honest, he didn't care. He hated being cooped up in this apartment. He just wanted to be with Rantaro.
It would be a dream for him. To be held by the green haired male. To be happy with him. Help Amami any way he could. But he couldn't. He was too afraid of surgery, empathy was one of his strong points. He thought withering away was the best option for him.
Perhaps...
It was.
