Complications

Elsa and Anna walked around the great hall when you and Rem entered. You both didn't notice them as the two of you are preoccupied with your chattering. The other couple saw you come in.

"Your guard's a charming one isn't she?" Anna whispered to her sister. "Seems like she's caught lots of attention from our servants."

When Elsa looked around, she noticed some maids were looking at you, giggling, and when you gave attention or greeted them, they blushed. Elsa felt some kind of constrict in her chest which she couldn't understand why. Her mood changed instantly from joyful to distraught which Anna did not fail to notice but she kept her mouth shut about it.

"Well! I think that's all there is for now! We should rest for the day and continue checking things out tomorrow!" Anna said with her best bubbly tone.

You all looked at her, hearing her loud voice. You smiled at them, thanked Rem for the tour, and walked towards the sisters.

"My queen." You bowed to Anna and she curtsied to you. Then you looked at Elsa "Your Highness, how are things going for you?"

"I'm weary. I simply wish to rest for now." She answered.

"Then, shall I accompany you to your room now?"

You offered your hand to her which she took immediately.

"Yes, please. Anna, I'll be leaving for now. I'll see you later."

"Alright," Anna answered. "Take it easy. Don't push yourself too hard okay."

You put Elsa's hand around your arms and you both walked off towards her room.

"I think something is going on with Elsa and that guard," Anna said.

"You're just overthinking things." Kristoff, her fiance, said.

"No! I know something's amiss. And I won't stop until I discover what it is!" Anna exclaimed.

"That sounds fun." A little snowman walked in. "Can I join you in whatever it is you're doing?"

"Of course Olaf! We've got a very important mission!" Anna said."But you have to promise me not to tell Elsa anything alright?"

"Alright, I promise." The snowman answered.

Elsa sat on her bed. You closed the door and stayed there standing guard.

"What are you doing over there?" She asked you.

"I'm your guard. I'm supposed to be watching over you." You answered.

She sighed. "Forgive me."

"For what, Your Highness?"

She stood up, frown covering her face, and walked towards you.

"Please stop it."

She grabbed your hand and dragged you to her bed. She sat down and made you sit next to her. She didn't say anything else. Instead, she leaned her head on your shoulder and shut her eyes. Silence enveloped the two of you for a moment.

"You're cold." You told her.

"Sorry." That was all she could say.

"I like your coldness though."

She held your hand and smiled.

"You compel me to feel things I don't understand," Elsa said.

The next day, when you walked out of your room, the queen was waiting outside.

"Hi!" Her usual lively voice greeted you. "Good morning to you."

You were surprised but gave your salutations and greeted her too.

"You're my sister's Royal Knight and you're in Arendelle. Sooooo... I thought of a more befitting outfit for the occasion that would suit you!" She clasped her hands. Her excitement showed in her smile.

"There's no need for that, Your Highness." You said. "I think my clothing is fine."

She pouted. "Are you disobeying orders from the queen?"

"No. No, of course not. I would not dare do so my queen." you answered, defensively waving your hands in front of you.

"Good! Then let's get going!" She grabbed your arms and dragged you. All the while smiling triumphantly.

Elsa wandered around the castle looking for you. She saw Rem sweeping and went to her to ask about you.

"Excuse me? Have you seen my royal guard?" Elsa asked.

Rem was flustered seeing the former queen. She curtsied clumsily.

"Uhm, I, I saw her come by with Queen Anna but they were in a rush so I don't have any idea where they were off to. Forgive me, Your Majesty."

"No, it's fine. You may get back to what you were doing." Elsa said and went outside wondering why Anna would be with you.

She strolled on the palace gardens and heard a burst of hearty laughter. She searched for the sound and saw the two of you having a chat. Elsa immediately hid in a nearby bush, trying her best to eavesdrop, but you are too far away to make something out. Your new outfit did not escape her sight though.

You were wearing an Arendelle guard uniform which fits your body and shows your curves and a few additional accessories to differentiate you from the other guards. Elsa cannot deny that you look handsome in those new suits.

From her view, she saw Anna fixing your collar. Another ache in her chest was felt but she ignored it because it was Anna and it felt wrong.

On the other side of the garden, you and Anna stood. Unaware of another presence watching the both of you.

"See! I knew it would look good on you!" Anna said.

"My queen, you dote too much on me. You shouldn't waste your time on a lowly servant like me."

Anna laughed aloud.

"Oh come on! Stop the act. I know there's something between you and Elsa. I'm not dense." She fixed your collar and admired her handiwork. "Perfect."

She went around you and saw someone hiding behind the bush. A thought popped up to her and she pretended she did not see the onlooker. She made you face her so your back is towards Elsa, then cupped your cheeks and leaned in.

Elsa gasped. From her point of view, she saw you and Anna kiss. Tears started to form in her eyes. She felt so betrayed. Escaping the gardens, she went back to her room. She collapsed on her bed and let out her tears.
