THREE YEARS
LATER_

—-

the knitted keychain swung on her bag that looped around her shoulder, her hair in a messy bun pooled on the top of her head. newly dyed chocolate brown hair streaking past her cheeks in stray strands.

walking through the hallway, her boots clattered with every footstep as she approached her classroom. a smile was plastered across her makeup-free face along with a pair of sparkling dark eyes.

"criminology?" an arm bumped hers as she turned to greet a familiar sight

"as always" she fished into her bag to find a specific key "is your brother still studying education?"

"don't say anything, i already tired to coax him." the boy rolled his eyes "i've got bio in two hours, lamb skewers after?"

"is that even a question" jangmi laughed "wait minjun"

the boy in front of her whipped around, perking his eyebrow up.

minjun had changed, completely. his hair was dyed back to black, but now split in the middle, even slightly curled. he kept refusing to cut his hair but at this point, it was almost covering his eyes. though, it did look good on him. a shining piercing was in one ear, the typical cross hung down from his ear.

but one thing didn't change, he was still incredibly smart, preparing to go into the science field. his dream had always been to find a cure for cancer, so here he is, studying endlessly to become an acquired scientist of the new generation

"this is your brothers" she placed a glass card into minjun's palm

"you went there again? and you're tell me you won't pay rent" he joked, thanking her through his gaze

"i'm not there everyday" she grabbed minjuns shoulder and spun him around

"sure" and the boy finally walked away. jangmi sighed, arriving in front of the room and placing her hand on the handle, but she didn't budge.

she use to take criminology with jaemin, but what and it even worse, was that today was the day of their exams. the day where she bid a silent goodbye.

"keep it together jangmi" she let out a breath  and opened the door, walking up to her seat.

"are you ever going to take that keychain off?" the boy next to her whined, linking their fingers together

"are you ever going to stop proposing to me?" she fired back, a sinister smirk on her face knowing she's won

"i cant believe a rock is stopping you from marrying me" he played with her ring finger that still didn't inhabitant a ring

"minhee, the rock isn't stopping me. my memories are and i'm sorry, you won't be able to get rid of the memories" she messed up his hair only to get glared at again

minhee was different, like everyone else. his hair was long and perfectly parted, and he even started to wear glasses more. his face didn't change though, he still had those eyes that fell for her. minhee's studies got better and better, and now aiming for top score in all his courses. he never said he wanted to be a teacher, but rather someone who worked in the culinary field. he had always had a knack for cooking, but because of his family situations, it was almost impossible to escape who they've assigned him to be

the principal of YLH high

minhee wasn't actually meant to take criminology, but as part of someone his dad describes as an all rounder, criminology counted as law. for some reason, minhee also had to excel at law according to his father
