Finally. I had finished picking up all of the broken pieces of glass. My Mother will never believe me. She never has. My Dad surely will just agree with her and think I'm making up crazy excuses to get out of trouble. Theres someone I need to tell. Someone that will believe me. Sarah.
I walk up to Sarah's house, feeling nervous as ever. The last time I saw her I punched her. Punched her, without even saying sorry. But my anger just couldn't hide. I knocked lightly, I didn't want to seem still angry. Sarah looks out the window and sees me. Then she opens the door. She has a tissue covering the blood from her nose. I feel so bad.. "What?" she says. I try to think of something to say. I want to make my appology meaningful. But I wont say it yet. "Can we talk?" I ask her. She nods and steps out. Sarah is sure a forgiving person. I would have probably made an excuse to not talk to her if she had done that. "Sarah, I'm so sorry for punching you! All of this anger just built up inside and I just thought you were lying. I felt scared and I didnt want to believe you. But the truth is I do believe you." I tell Sarah as we walk down the sidewalk. Its a short yet long pause. Then Sarah says "Its fine, what did you see?" I'm confused. I thought Sarah would still be mad. Or not want to be friends anymore. Sarah really is an easy-forgiving person. I have to tell her about Jamie.
"I went to the bathroom and splashed water on my face to cool off from all the anger. This was right after I punched you...And I look back into the mirror. And Jamie, my bestfriend was right behind me. But it didn't look like Jamie. But it was... She had red eyes, She stared creepily in the mirror when she pulled out a knife...I panicked and tried to get out but the door was locked. Then Jamie took the knife and threw it at the mirror! It shattered everywhere. I tried to explain to my mom but she wouldn't believe me..." I say to Sarah. Sarah tries to process everything. "Marissa. If you don't get out of that house..You dont want to know what will happen next." Chills run up my spine. Tears run down my face. "What have they done to Jamie?" I say my voice cracking. "They've made her apart of their evil family..." Sarah says.
"Jamie will do whatever they say. The only thing you can do is to move out of that house. And fast."
