It all started with a "Hi" when the 'Relationship Railroad' took Darrel Curtis and me for a terrifying ride.
It's was a dark, foggy afternoon when Sodapop Curtis called my home phone.
Sodapop Curtis is my best buddy - one of my only buddies at that. He cared for me like a sister.
Me and Soda were the same age, 16 years old. I had never been anywhere near him though for the past year or so when Sandy stepped into his life and assumed I was more than a friend.
I mean, if I was Sandy, my biggest fear would be getting Soda tore from my cluth. Soda was handsome. He had super star features, short silky brown hair with glistening blue eyes. He had a jawline that could cut diamonds and his body was muscly, tough and tuff looking.
His little brother, Ponyboy Curtis, and him shared a resemblance, but there was something about his older brother that was charming and different.
I answerd the phone to hearing laughter in the background.
"Y/n! You're home. Uh, you should visit me and the boys. We're throwing a small party and they're all sleeping over!" Sodapop said with excitement filling his words.
I stayed silent for 5 seconds to think about what he had just said.
A party? ME wanted at a PARTY?
"I- Sure! When do you want me to head over?" I asked him.
"Now," he responded almost immediately.
I nodded my head to myself. "Alright, I just need to take a shower. I'll be there in a bit."
"Also, no need to knock Miss Polite. Just barge in."
I giggled and put the phone down. My heart did I kick flip. I loved hanging out with the Curtis' because of their selection of books. Darry and Ponyboy didn't talk to me much. Sodapop would find a random book that was scattered in his and Ponyboy's room and hand it to me, keeping me distracted while he did filled out his hours at DX, then we would sit and gossip about the latest things in highschool since he was a drop out.
Pony stayed out of out way when I was over. Him and Darry probably thought me and Soda had a thing going on that was never spoken of since I dissapeared after Sandy walked in.
Speaking of Sandy, why did Soda invite me over? Sandy was still around. She's been around.
I dryed myself off with a towel, then slipped on a pair of skinny jeans and a maroon colored sweater. Yes, I'm a soc. I've been a soc for as long as I've lived, but I had plans to marry a greaser. Like my dad did. My dad liked people with emotions. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree, does it?
I brushed through my h/t (hair type: curly, strait, etc.) hair. My dad then walked him.
"Who called?" He asked in his thick country accent.
I looked at him. "Sodapop Curtis. He wants me to come over to party at his house and spend the night."
My dad frowned. "You know I don't like you hanging out with boys, Y/n. You can go, but if one of them lays a finger on you, you tell me. 'Cause they won't be seeing the light of day."
I smiled, letting out a stiff laugh. "I promise they won't touch me."
He just nodded and walked out of my room.I knocked on the door behind the screen door. The brunette I had befriended a long time ago opened up, smiling giddily.
"I told you you didn't have to knock, Y/n," Soda said, engulfing me into a hug.
I smiled, wrapping my arms around him before he pulled away.
He guided me into the house and closed the door. Two boys sat on either end of the couch, one on the floor, and the other standing. Ponyboy walked out of the bathroom and took a seat on the floor next to the guy that had his eyes focused on Micky Mouse. I assumed Darry was in the kitchen.
"Who's the girl you got?" The guy asked, paying his attention to me and not the high pitched mouse dancing on screen.
"This is Y/n L/n. She an old friend," Soda responded, keeping his one arm gripping my shoulder.
Ponyboy looked at me, smiling. "Aren't you Soda's old girlfriend?"
My face blazed like a fire. Why would I ever be Sodapop's girlfriend? Not that he's bad or anything, but me of all girls he's probably taken home?
I shook my head fast, like if I didn't a mistake would be made and we'd all die.
"Ponyboy, shut your trap. She's a friend and only a friend."
Darry walked out of the kitchen, drying off his hands with a towel. The butterflies in my stomach woke up and started flying like there was no tomorrow. He looked handsome in the living room's dim lighting, his mucles tone-
"Y/n!" Soda screamed in my ear.
I jumped and looked at him. "What?"
He let out a short chuckle. "I asked if you were hungry."
"Obviously for Darry she is," a tall dude with brown hair and only a leather jacket to cover up his torso said.
My face turned an even deeper shade of red.
"Fuck off," Soda said, laughing along with him.•••
Well, there you go! I finished the first chapter. Tell me what you think and let me know if I should make a chapter two :)
