It's been a few days since I woke up and I've been taking it easy. I mean I did get stabbed in the stomach so yeah. Shadow has been ensuring I don't go overboard. Mom and dad are glad to have me back and Scythe? Well she's banned me from work for now.
Whilst I am awake and out of the infirmary, I kind of haven't left my room since. Mainly because I have not been in the place in 14 years so yeah...I'd rather not get lost.
"Morning Neko" dad stated when he came in with Shadow.
"Hey dad. Hey Shaya" I replied then sat up and adjusted my eye patch.
"Hey DB I've been meaning to ask. What's with the eyepatch?" Shadow asked me.
"My left eye is blinded but whenever I transform it becomes a death eye so I cover it up to keep everyone safe. And before you ask, Angela Blanc is the one who blinded me." I explained then remembered one thing.
"And Shadow I am so sorry to hear about Amarus' death. I know you looked up to him" I added.
"It was tough to deal with at first but I know he wouldn't want me to mourn for too long. He'd want me to live my life to the fullest." Shadow told me as she changed my bandages.
"So dad. What actually happened the day I was taken?" I asked when he sat beside me.

Comes in handy since my bandages are completely visible as my hoodie only comes to halfway down my torso.
"I wasn't exactly with you or your sister that day. We were all on mount Olympus visiting my brothers the out of nowhere we heard a scream. Ran out. Scythe was unconscious and stabbed in the arm whilst you. You were gone. We searched everywhere but eventually we had to stop. Our numbers were thinning. But that is in the past. Your back my sweet little reaper. Back with me, your mom, sister, and back with your girlfriend." Dad explained.
"Wait you have no issues with me and Shadow dating? I thought you would" I stated then flinched as Shadow ties my bandages.
"We all saw when you girls were younger that there was something between you. So if you wish to pursue love and happiness with Shadow then your mom and I won't stop you. We love you Daybreak and all we want for you and for Scythe is your happiness. In whatever way you find it." Dad told me then I hugged him.
"Love you daddy" I stated then h the three of us went to the dining room for breakfast.
"Someone's feeling better today. How's the pain now anyways DB?" Scythe asked me when Shadow and I sat beside her. Yeah Shadow moved in with us and she shares a bed with me since we are a couple.
"It still hurts a little but I do not want to spend another day cooped up in my room. I know I can't do any shinigami work still but for real. I do want to get back on my feet sooner rather than later. Besides Shadow here literally locked my weapons and training gear away so I can't do it even if I wanted to" Shadow actually giggled when I said that. Same to Scythe.
"Well Shadow. That's one way to ensure she takes it easy." Scythe stated.
"Yup. I knew she would try so I used my magic to create a realm seal on the gear. That only I can break" shadow explained.
Thankfully we came to an agreement. I'm allowed back at the library and help around in just not allowed to actually reap souls. So imma help create the daily to-die lists for everyone.

Scythe and I arrived at around 11 am and as soon as we opened the main doors I just got bombarded with Shinigami racing to hug me.
"GUYS STOP! My abdomen still hurts so please don't." I told them. Thankfully William and Ronald got them all to calm down whilst Scythe and I walked to her office.
"So you have been managing this place for how long sis?" I asked.
"Since I turned 18 so about ten years now. You would have been 15 roughly when I took command. Now I'm 9 years older than Amybrine and it makes me laugh every time I remind her" that last part made us both laugh.
"Yeah and I'm six years older given how I am three years younger than you" I replied then we got to work making the lists.
"Thanks for helping out today DB. But are you sure you're alright? You seem paler than normal and you seemed a bit tired this morning. What's going on?" Scythe asked me when we sat down on the sofa back in our living room in the castle
"Yeah. Just not sleeping through the night is all. My dreams are plagued with my vivid memories of torture I went through with Angela and just the memory of that day over a week ago when my life was on the line" I explained.
Shadow came in and wrapped her wings around me then gave me something: an eye-patch with a flower in the center
"I had it custom made for the girl who made me smile every day. And listen if oyu ever need to talk you know we are all here for you Daybreak. Angela is gone and if she ever DARES lay a finger on you again, pretty sure Pain and Panic will try to kill her" I laughed at that last remark. Panic and Pain are loyal to my father and to the entire royal family. Including Shadow who is lady of Purgatory now given our relationship.
Yeah I was not letting the council stop me giving her a title. She is my girlfriend and now known as Lady Shadow
