I went downstairs to eat dinner like my mom said. We ate and no one talked. Complete silence filled the room. The tension between all of us was so thick you could cut it with a knife. I wanted to say something, but I honestly just didn't know what to say. Then I finally said something. "Hey mom"
"Yes Amanda?"
"Do you think we could go shopping sometime this week?"
"Well... Your sister needs more important clothes than you.. Sorry but Katie just needs new clothes. Don't you have enough already?"
I just glared at her, water filling my eyes but I fight back the tears. I managed to say a few words "Oh.. Okay. That's fine, I understand."
"Okay honey! I'm glad you understand!" My mom said.
My sister kicked my leg under the table. I glanced up to see what she wanted. She only moved her lips "Stop trying to get mom to take you shopping. She obviously doesn't care for you. So stop trying."
I just stared at her with the look of what the hell is wrong with you. I excused my self from the table and went to my room. I closed the door and locked it. I wanted to cry a river and drown in it.
