Chapter 15

Soon my mother will be coming and I'm afraid that I can't do anything, 'You seek revenge don't you Shi-san? Don't worry I will seek the truth even if this is done, I will take justice for they took someone so precious to me' My steps slowed down as my thoughts ran wild. I know the council had something to do with it as well as the Vampire Association, they might be working together that is behind closed doors there is a traitor with a high position.

"Enough with the parlor tricks just tell us why we are here" Zero glowered, annoyed. Awkwardly chuckling Kaien cleared his throat "There will be a guest entering the Moon Dorm" stiffening at his words I could see Yuki's eyes tremble before she shakily asked "Who is this..guest?" 'Ichijo Asato' I answered briefly. "He's the current head of the Vampire Council or the Senate, per say" narrowing my eyes I couldn't help but wonder what a high-ranking vampire wish to come here. "Why?" Zero interrogated his tone filled with distaste and suspicion. "He said he wished to speak with his Grandson, Takuma-kun" 'No wonder the name sounded familiar' I voiced ignoring the confused glances from the other two. "Yes, you have met him once when I met with him before the construction of the school" Kaien replied. "Is that really all that he wants?" lacing his fingers in front of him Kaien spoke in an almost arrogant tone "Well if he tries anything else Rin will be there to interfere, he is a well-known hunter that the association values and the Senate fear" he boasted dramatically pointing at said person who turned away from the awed glances of Yuki. 'What do you want us to do?' I questioned "When he's done with his visit please escort here, I wish to have a word with him" leaving no room for protests and they all nodded. 'I will take my leave then' I walked towards the dorms and headed straight to my room and slipped under the covers, 'I'm tired, all of this is too much, I wish kaasan was here so I could talk with her' my mind slowly slipped into the abyss, memories of my times with Shizuka filled my mind.

Flashback

"Is it really okay?" I peered curiously at the silver haired woman that stood behind me, her hand pushing me forward. "You mustn't fear them, they are gentle creatures. My familiars wouldn't dare harm you" her cold hand stroked my hair and I closed my eyes giving her a small smile before reaching out to the crow perched on the windowsill. "See they know that you are my precious daughter" "Hai Shi-san!"

"Ne, is it okay if I call you Kaasan?" I swung my feet as she brushed my short hair, her movements halting briefly before the continued. "Of course, you are my daughter, Rin Hio" turning towards the female I hugged her tightly tears spilling from my eyes, "Thank you, Kaasan"

"Your eyes remind me of that man" her words were cold that I couldn't help but lower my head in sadness. "I'm sorry for causing you despair, Shi-san" my lips trembled. A finger raised my head to meet the soft pink eyes of my mother-figure as she smiled at me, "Even so I can't help but love your eyes for they are-"

Flashback end

My eyes snapped open suddenly, my hands reaching up to dry my tears hastily. 'Kaasan'
Quickly dressing in casual cloth I headed down to the lounge room ignoring the others as they seemed to shift uncomfortably. 'Hmph, afraid of the senate' I leaned against the wall in a far corner away from everyone yet still close enough to stop anything, 'I hope nothing happens' I grumpily wished.

The doors were slammed open and in came a figure, "Thank you for the warm welcome, but the only reason why I'm here tonight is to pay a visit to my dear grandson" Ichio walked towards Takuma and Kaname. I ignored their conversation until everything climaxed and I had to hold Aidou back from attacking the man. "Let go off me, Rin. This man needs to be taught a lesson, doesn't he know that it is taboo to ask a pureblood for his blood!" I restrained him further not once letting my strong grip loosened. "It is a taboo among vampires. I am not afraid of you sir-" He was harshly back handed by Kaname; his head turning to the side by the force.
"Thank you rin, you can let go of him now" I released my grip and stepped back. "I haven't taught him enough manners" Kaname apologized bowing his head slightly. "It is because of you that my concerns are put at ease and I allow my grandson to attend this academy, Lord Kaname" he kissed his hand as all the others watched.

Time skip

"Cross academy is peaceful" "Yuki?" "So please donate more money, is what the headmaster said" she smiled sheepishly at the two males. "You are Takuma's grandfather, right?" she then saluted "We are here to escort you" I stepped up making my presence known by walking towards Yuki just as Zero appeared. "Follow us we'll take you to the headmaster's office' "Hmph, very well" I ignored the glare that Zero sent my way and turned to walk to papa's office.

"I see that you attend this academy as well, Rin Cross. A well-known vampire hunter, even among the vampire senate" 'Is my name really that well known?' "To think that a vampire would hunt vampires, it is absurd and the highest level of hypocrisy" 'I could say the same for you' he turned swiftly and glared at me making the other two tense. "I am from the Senate show some respect" he snarled his power intensifying as I huffed silently at his flaunting.

'I have no loyalty to the Senate only to my father' he appeared in front of me but froze as my blade rested on the side of his neck and Zero pulled out his bloody rose his lavender eyes glaring at the man; the only one to hesitate was Yuki as she silently pondered 'He's the headmaster's guest'
"I see" he muttered before backing down, I brought my weapon down slowly my eyes never leaving his form as did Zero. 'Let's not keep the headmaster waiting, shall we?' I politely asked and continued to lead the way ignoring Ichio's sharp eyes.

Later

I lay on the grass basking in the light of the moon, no thoughts in my mind as I watched the stars. "How tiresome" I spoke lowly as my hand played with the blades of grass while the other was beneath my head holding it up.
"So this is where you were, Rin" I sat up as I heard father's voice break through the night. "Yeah, what is it?" I asked though from the grim look o n his face it wasn't going to be anything good. "I need to have a word with you. Come along" I stood up and followed after him silently the atmosphere tense.

'Let's see if you still know me' my eyebrows scrunched up in confusion 'What did she mean by that' "I'm sorry Rin" I blinked in confusion before looking down spotting Yuki on the ground her face flushed as she averted her eyes in embarrassment. I held my hand out 'It's fine I also wasn't paying attention' she nodded before continuing down the hall. My mind froze, 'We are at..' "What's the matter Yuki seemed like she was upset about something" Papa spoke as he walked into the bathroom. "Perfect timing though, Zero I need to have a word with you if I may" I watched as they both walked out our eyes meeting before he looked away and clenched his hands. "Come on I need to speak to you both" I followed after him 'Okay'

"This is an order from the hunter association.It's a request to hunt down a level e serial killer" he handed him an envelop before turning to me "Rin you have been ordered to go with him, to supervise him" I nodded "It's your first assignment as a hunter' he shook his head solemnly 'It's despicable this is just a way of testing you to see if you are fit to carry on the Kiryu name despite my reassurance" I could see the turmoil in his eyes as he stared at the envelop"Listen I-" "Unfortunately this is not something you can refuse" 'How annoying they have become' I voiced out my head resting against the wall. 'Why did they ask for me to go, what are they playing at' "Indeed they have but we  can't do anything both you and I should know this, right Rin?' I opened my eyes 'Yes, so let's get ready to head out'
