UGH! STUPID SUITCASE! I yell as I shove my Big, heavy suitcase into the trunk of a Taxi. "I'm going to be late to the airport!" With one last kick, I finally got my suitcase into the trunk. I grabbed my purse and jumped into the passenger seat of the Taxi. I have an hour to get to the airport.
My name is Leticia Triana, Leti for short, and I'm on my way to Paris, France. Ever since a new restaurant opened up across the street from my family's Business, it has been losing customers and a lot of money. I have to get to Paris to help with the business. Paris, France has always been my hometown, of course. It's practically where I grew up and where I learned to do a lot of things. Just so you know, English isn't my first language. My first language is obviously French. France is also where my parents started their business. When I turned 18, I had to leave Because there weren't many universities in Paris or France. Ever since I left, a new restaurant opened up and my parents' customer service has declined and they've been losing money. So how, here I am, on my way to Paris, France to help my family.
Just as I was about to fall asleep, the taxi pulled up at the airport.it had been 1 whole hour we've been driving because my house is extremely far from the airport. I grabbed my purse and my suitcase from the trunk and started my way towards the airport. After I checked in, I quickly dashed across the airport, dragging my heavy suitcase and carrying my purse. I didn't want to miss my flight, which was leaving in a minute.
"Ahhhh, I made it." I thought as I was stepping aboard the plane. I shoved my bags into the passenger's storage and took a seat. The plane was about to take off. "Next destination, Paris, France." I plugged my AirPods in as the plane began to lift off the ground.
"I'm hungry." I said to myself. I pulled out some peanut butter crackers I had packed for a snack. As I munched away on the crackers, I felt a sense of happiness. I would soon be in Paris, France, my hometown, with my family. It wasn't long before I started to get tired. There was an empty seat next to me. Maybe I could lay down and take a short nap. After all, I spent all morning packing and preparing for this trip. I carefully Moved the arm rest and laid down on the seat. I was exhausted.
"Mmm, what's that noise." It took me a moment to realize that I had been sleeping almost the entire trip. The plane was just about to land. I quickly grabbed my bags out of their storage and prepared to leave the plane. Here I was, Paris, France. Right after I left the plane, I headed for my family's bakery. I figured they would be there, waiting for me. After a few minutes of walking, I was standing right outside of my parents bakery, I thought to myself, "I made it!" I grabbed bags and ran inside to see my family. There was mama, papa, my sœur (sister), my frère (brother), and my grand-mère (grandma). But, I couldn't see my grandpère (grandpa). Maybe, he was busy at the moment. I ran in and gave my family a huge hug. "My, my, Leticia, your so grown up!" Said mama. I gave mama a huge hug. Agnès and Arthur! I hugged my sœur and frère and also my grand-mère. "Where's grand-père?" I asked. "Oh dear, Leticia, your grand-père has been very stressed about the bakery and our declining of customers." Said mama. "We might go out of business." "WHAT! We can't close!" I yelled. "This bakery means so much to our family, it's been with us for 15 years! I promise I come up with something to increase our customers." I said. "Leti, dear, we want you to work as one of our waitresses." Said mama. "Yes, mama, anything for this bakery." I have to come with something to help the bakery. I only have month till I go back to college. I need to figure something out. Before I could get lost in my thoughts, grand-père showed up. "Grand-père!" I yelled as I ran to hug him. "Leti! Tu es is grand! (You're so grown up!) Said Grand-père. Grand-père isn't fluent in English like the rest of us. "It's late, we should go to bed." Said mama. "Agnès, show Leti where her room is please." "Yes mama." Said agnès. "Come, Leti." I followed Agnes across the halls. Our family had a house in the back of our bakery where they lived. I opened the door agnès led me to. I walked in the see a bright blue room and very nice furniture. After agnès left, I placed my suitcase on the floor. "I'll unpack tomorrow." I laid down on my bed. "What a day?" I thought to myself. "I'm sure I'll figure out something to save my family's bakery. We always get through everything together." I went to bed with a smile on my face. Little did I know, this is only the beginning of my amazing journey.
