Teacher 😲 Part 1
Your 11 year old son Shawn had his first day of school today. You were very excited it was his last year in elementary school. He was growing up so fast. You drove him to school. "You excited?!" 'Yeah...I guess.' "What's going on?" 'I don't know....I just have this new teacher...and it's her first year teaching. I hope she's nice.' "Well I've had my fair share of mean teachers....sometimes it happens. You'll be fine I promise." You drove up and he opened the door. "Okay I love you have a great day!" 'Love you too.' He got out and walked in. You watched as your boy was growing into a man. You drove to work. You like to work during Shawn's school hours. So you could spend as much time with him as you could. And you could drive him to his practices and friends houses and what not. Things were easier when Shawn's mother/father was around. Took a little bit of stress off of you so you didn't have to worry as much. But let's not go down that road he/she doesn't deserve to see Shawn. Shawn deserves the world. You got off work and headed to pick up Shawn. You saw Shawn and he climbed in the car. "Hey buddy! How was your first day with the new teacher?!" 'It was great! She's awesome! And she's really pretty!' You laughed. "Oooohhh someone's got a crush!" Shawn laughed which always brought a smile to your face. 'You'll like her! She can't wait to meet you!' "What do you mean?" 'Open house! It's this Friday.' "Okay Awesome! Can't wait to meet her! What's her name?" 'Ms. Lovato.' "Cool. Hey you know what? Since we both had good days....let's get some ice cream! What do you say?" 'Yay! You're the best mom/dad!' You guys drove to your favorite ice cream place and had ice cream after you guys had your ice cream you guys headed home. You got home and walked inside. "Any homework?" 'No. Just some things for you to sign.' "Like what?" 'Syllabus and emergency contact stuff.' "Okay put it on the table and I'll sign it." 'Okay.' You went upstairs and changed. You went back downstairs and looked through the syllabus. "Hey Shawn! Come here please!" 'Coming!' He came running down. "Why didn't you tell me you needed school supplies?" 'Oops...sorry I forgot.' You took a deep breath and sighed. "Okay it's fine....we'll go tomorrow and get your stuff. Next time tell me these things okay?" 'Okay....sorry mom/dad.' "It's okay...go back to what you were doing....dinner will be ready soon." 'Okay.' There were so many things on the syllabus that Shawn needed. Some things you've never heard of. Wow how the times have changed......
