'Picture above may not be accurate sorry.'

The next few months were hard. Morning sickness, pain from the rejection, more morning sickness and the stress of an unfamilar place all wore me down. Luckily I had Elena and my Aunt. I don't think I would've survived the first trimester without them. They helped me set up the nursery in Liza's home office and we  started shopping for the seemingly endless amount of stuff a newborn needs.

A voice pulled me out of my daydreaming. "We're here." Aunt Liza said, shaking my arm to gain my attention.

My heart started thudding. I was so excited. I was finding out the sex of my baby today. The past doctor's appointments I had, it was either too early to find out and the last time I had chickened out, thinking I wanted it to be a surprise. Elena, however, had recently convinced me to find out saying and I quote "If I'm going to be the baby's favourite Aunt I have to get them the right outfit for their grand arrival". I had decided to just give her this to stop her endless begging, but now I was genuinely excited.

I carefully got out of the car while Elena hopped out of the back bubbling with excitement and Liza locked up. Elena and I locked arms and made our way into the doctor's office with Liza trailing behind. We quickly checked in then went to the waiting area where Elena pulled out one of the dozens of baby books she had accumulated from her many trips to local bookshops over the past few weeks.

"Jeez, Elena will you cool it with all the books, we have enough." I sighed, realising I hadn't seen this one so she must have just bought it.

"We don't know anything about babies Alice, we don't have any younger siblings or anything. I want to be a good Aunt so I have to know I'm not gonna accidently smother the thing or something" Elena ranted.

"Oh my god Elena! Shut up. We will be fine. If we read the million books you've already gotten I'm sure we will have enough knowledge to raise 3 babies." I whisper shouted when a few heads turned in our direction.

Elena held her habds up in surrender. "Ok, ok, chill. I'll stop buying books." Just then I heard my name called and we all stood up to follow the doctor into the room.

"Hi Alice how are we feeling today?" Doctor Spencer said as we walked in.

"Good, a bit tired and sore. I swear it feels like I'm growing a thousand bricks in here." I replied patting my expanding belly.

"She also needs to pee every three seconds. Which is super annoying when we're at the cinema." Elena helpfully added.

"Thanks for that Elena." I said rolling my eyes. She blew me a kiss in response.

"Alrighty then. That all sounds normal for this part of the pregnancy. Now let's get on to what you're waiting for. Let's see if it's a boy or a girl. Up on the bed please." Doctor Spencer said while setting up the ultrasound. "Now you know the drill, this will be cold sorry." I already had my shirt rolled up ready for the gel.

"Okay let's see what we have here". Doctor Spencer started rolling the wand over my stomach. Images then started popping up on the screen which my eyes were fixated to. "Everything seems to be in order ... wait a second." Her eyebrows furrowed and her eyes squirted, looking closer at the pictures.

"What? Is something wrong? Is the baby okay? This can't be happening, I've taken all the tablets and I've eaten perfectly. What happened?" I rambled, panicking.

"No, no, no, calm down. Everything is okay. I just got a bit of shock because I don't see this on the previous scan." She said trying to soothe me.

"Saw what?!?" I was still panicking.

"Do you see those two shapes there? That's baby number 2 and 3." She said, pointing at two blobs on the screen. "They must've been hiding during the other scans." She chuckled.

My eyes darted to Elena and Liza beside me. Elena's face paled and Liza smiled comfortably at me. "Three babies. I'm having triplets?" I whispered.

"Yes, congratulations and it seems like its gonna be two boys and a girl". Doctor Spencer smiled.

I grabbed my belly and murmured sarcastically "Oh yay."

Elena squeezed my hand and then said "Well you said we had enough books to be able to raise three babies. Now we will have to see if you were right".

I looked at her in shock before groaning. "I think I'm gonna be sick."
