Amelia's POV:

I walk next to Charles as we approach the gate. This is now the time he has to leave me. He carries his daughter in one arm and holds my hand with his other. He sets Lucy down and gives her a hug, then tells her he'll be back home soon.
Charles walks back to me and I look down and I can feel his stare.

I look up into his wondering gaze and tell him," Please come home all in one piece." I look back down studying my shoes.

He looks down at me; raises my my head by my chin and says," Don't worry too much, when have I not come home to you?"

" Remember that one night you fell asleep at Rick's house? You didn't come home to me then." I reply back crossing my arms.

He chuckles a bit and says, "Well that is much different then now."

"Oh really?" I ask as he pulls me into a kiss. We then pull away and Charles digs in his pocket. Only to pull out a locket. He opens it and smiles at the picture of all three of us. He then closes it walking a step or two to Lucy and bends down in front of her.

Charles gives her his signature stud grin and asked her, " Can you do two things for me sweetheart,"
She giggles and nods at him
" I want you to keep this safe for me ok, you can never take this off."

She looks at him with big, blue, doe eyes that holds the knowledge that he was very serious. He turns her around and latches the locket around her neck. He then picks her up and walks toward me pulling us into a family group hug. He sets Lucy down and gives me one last lingering kiss. He then turns and walks through the gate.

I hold Lucy by my side as we watch a man that means the world to both of walk into something he might not come back out of. Before Charles walks onto the ship he turns and gives us a sweet smile and a small wave.

"Bye,bye daddy I love you." Yells a girl that he absolutely adores and worships the ground she walks on.

" I love you two sweet heart. Take good care of mommy while I'm gone." Her dad yells back. Charles then walks through the doorway, but not before giving me a reassuring look that was supposed to help put my nerves at ease. Though it didn't work.

I take a deep breathe. I clench my hand into a fist to keep it from shaking too much. The quivering question that always will linger in my mind is the question, Are you coming home?
