October 17 1996 the air is crisp, the leaves have already turned orange and have started falling off the trees. A town drenched in mystery has already started decorating for Halloween, the streets are decorated with cheap decorations, fake skeletons, fake spider webs, and right in the middle of town is a monument dedicated to all the souls lost on Halloween in this town. What usually is a beautiful monument is now vandalized, red paint covers the names of the people who lost their lives. 19 names are currently on the memorial, and this town hopes to not add anymore. But deep in the town, tucked away from view is a place that didn't have to decorate for Halloween this year, or any year before this one for that matter, it is Hull House. The former funeral parlor and crematorium already has its share of spider webs and skeletons and none of them are fake. Its resident demon of the house Angela Franklin, is still in her slumber rolling in her grave waiting for Halloween the one night a year she can freely roam the halls of her possessed home. This year will be different something threatens to wake Angela early and when it does HELL hath no fury like a demon scorned!
Back in town the newest mayor has a proposal for its residents."It's October, Halloween is a few weeks away and you know what that means." The town's new mayor says while addressing the city council. "It means that our local historical landmark HULL HOUSE, will be the sight of vandalism, destruction of property, and parties for local teenagers. NOT this year!,Not on my watch!" His voice is stern, his face is serious, his white hair is styled perfectly and his bright blue eyes almost pierce the room, he is very attractive , the city council now is looking aound at each other. A woman in the front row raises her hand, she is mousy looking, oversized glasses a bowl cut, and an unflattering brown suit the mayor calls on her to speak. "Mayor Bloom how are we supposed to keep the teenagers from visiting Hull House? They go every year and every year the damage gets worse, or even worse our towns teens end up dead or missing." He stares off into the distance for a moment and then glances back at her. "Well Mam, this year we will have a team of people working to bring this house back to its glory days." Her hand shot back up, "you mean to tell me that you are remodeling Hull House?" And before she can even grasp the question she just asked Mayor Bloom replies "yes". The room goes into a frenzy. "What about the murders?" asks one woman, "what about the missing teens?" Asks another man. "Though these horrible events happened, I feel that bringing new life to this place, and giving the community a nice place to look at instead of a run down mansion, will benefit the community in the long run. I have already hired a crew from out of town to start work tomorrow. I am paying out of my own pocket for most of the renovations, and the other will be from the historical society so this can be labeled as a historical landmark, after all it was the biggest funeral parlor in three counties so its history while colorful also holds significance to our town." The mayor steps back from the microphone, his assistant steps forward, "no further questions". They walk off the stage, the crowd still going insane. Mayor Bloom looks at his assistant and says "I hope I didn't make a mistake."
The next day at Hull house, a group of men have started moving their equipment to the house to start work immediately. CLACK, BANG, THUD. The noises of new pieces wood hit the ground. A loud screech can be heard echoing down the halls of Hull house. Another thud, pipes creaking, the sound of dun, dun, dun, echoes through the empty house. "Its just old pipes!" Julian a handsome construction worker says. "Yeah, old houses settle in, its nothing." Said frank an older construction worker. But honestly Frank doesn't even believe himself, he has heard the stories of Hull house and knows that any noise in this house isn't just settling or old pipes,he knows it's the devil's handiwork but what he doesn't know is the Devils favorite Demon Angela is getting ready to rise and with a vengeance.
One week later October 24. The sounds of power tools echo in the distance, crowds have come to see the restoration of Hull House, some excited about its rebirth, others protesting its existence all together. The mayor comes walking toward the house, him and his assistant both wearing hard hats. Mayor Bloom has been updated constantly through the process. He looks at the head of construction and says, "So this is going quicker than I thought." Paul, the construction worker, is brooding, manly, and a bit too young to run such a large scale operation, but surprisingly he is mature beyond his years. Paul replies "well let me be honest, structurally this place is still sound, there were a few bumps we ran into here and there but overall it has been a job that is taking care of itself." Mayor bloom looks confused, this doesn't sound like the run down funeral parlor he remembered, but he didn't really question. Some rooms are done already, painted and patched up. The outside is halfway painted. They chose white to counteract the harsh dark memories people associate with house, and it seems to work for most people in the crowd, you can hear comments about it never looking so beautiful, or it looks like a brand new place. But sadly what the community doesn't know is it's the same old Hull House as before just with a fresh coat of paint.
October 27th. Paul has fallen asleep in his truck on his lunch break.a An eerie female voice intrudes his head. The voice is soft then loud, then sinister "Paul, Pauull, Paul, wake up, it's time to die!" Then maniacal laughter fills his thoughts, Paul wakes up, breathing heavily, sweating all over. *BOOM* followed by a scream pierces the air, multiple voices are now over top of each other. Paul rushes over to see what was happening. A ladder holding one of the construction workers has fallen to the ground, the worker Julian is hanging from the ledge of the house by just his fingers. Paul runs inside and tries to get the door open to the room Julian is in, he has no luck. Paul can't focus on the people on the ground who is trying to make sure he is alright, he is focused only the woman he seen before the ladder crashed. He can still see her face in his head. A Beautiful woman with dark curly hair, was standing right in front of him in the window he was working on, she opened her mouth and all he heard was a beautiful voice, almost like a siren who would lure men to their death on the waters. The men below stretch out a net and tell Julian to fall, that they got him. His fingers are slipping but he is too scared to fall. Then the window opens he feels someone's hands on his wrists. He can feel a tug but he can't see who it is pulling him up. He is panicking now, thoughts of falling and breaking his legs or his back, rush through his mind. He tries to look down to see where the net is, but he can't see it, then as if someone who'd won a strong man competition has him in their grips, he gets pulled through the window. He hits the floor below the window, "Thank you!" Comes out of his mouth, he looks up but no one is there, then at that moment paul breaks the door down to see Julian on the floor. They are both breathing heavily. "What happened?" Asked Paul...Julian stutters trying to get the words out. 'I, I, I saw this woman, she was beautiful, she starting singing to me." Paul looks confused, "there is no one in here but us. The door was bolted shut." Julian looks even more confused, "I saw her. She was there. She was wearing all black, she was the most beautiful woman I've ever seen."
Frank the older handyman hears the description of the woman and he knows exactly who it is. "That's Angela!" He is shaking as the words come out of his mouth. "Angela?" Said Paul. "Who is that?" He asked. "Shes a demon, and every Halloween she comes back to take more souls" Frank is clearly freaking out. "You guys don't know what we have dredged up, we need to leave now!" Frank starts taking off his tool belt to leave the site. Another man stepped forward, "Its just an urban legend, there are no ghosts or demons here, it's just an old spooky house." He doesn't really believe what he is saying but he's trying to comfort Frank. "Bill, I'm sorry but it is real, and we have to leave now." Frank starts to walk away. "I pray that all of you get out of here alive and still have a soul when you're done." He is walking backward, he turns around toward the road and realizes his foot is stuck on something, then a sudden pain hits him out of nowhere. A piece of rope had entagled his ankle, he is upside down hollering for help, all of the guys run over and try to untangle the rope, but the rope doesn't want to budge, 3 of the guys ran over to get a chainsaw to cut the rope, and right when they get back to him, the rope magically untangled, he fell so fast they didn't have time to grab him, he falls right on neck, the snap echoes through the air. The guys all gasped in horror, " someone call 911" shouts Paul. "There are no phones out here!" says Julian. "Well get on the CB Radio and call for help." Paul yelled at Julian. "Hello, this is Julian, we are at Hull house and we require immediate help." He let's his finger off the side. "I repeat we need help at Hull house, there's been an accident, someone's hurt badly!" He is sweating now, he is shaking so bad he can barely hold the cb radio. Then they hear "This is dispatch, help is on the way. OVER." A female voice says firmly. "Thank you, over and out." Said julian.
The emergency responders show up 10 minutes later. Lights flashing everywhere, noises from radios can be heard in the distance. Then they heard click, click, click, and lights got brighter and was flashing closer to them. This wasn't the lights from the vehicles, this was someone taking pictures of the scene. Frank's body hadn't even been put in the ambulance yet to be transported to the morgue, and pictures off the crime scene were already being taken. The man wearing all black, black hat, black trenchcoat, wire rim glasses says he's from the coroner's office and has to photograph the scene. "I've never seen you before." The head officer on duty said. "I'm new I just started this week." Said the strange man. "My name is Dennis Coburn.". He reached out his hand to the officer to shake. "Officer Larry, I'm the chief around these parts." He shakes his hand, and he cant help but to notice the scars on Dennis's hands, they were rough and bumpy. "I was in a fire as a kid, that's what the scars came from." Dennis said while feeling slightly embarrassed. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to make you feel uncomfortable about them." Officer Larry says. "I'm used to it" says Dennis as the officer walks away.
Little did the guys outside know that deeep inside Hull house, Angela has fully awoken. The construction disrupted her slumber, and she is not happy. She has claimed her newest victim and is hungry for more.
