When the pair flew over the palace, Ahsoka looked outside for the first time. She expected to see the blue and green beautiful Naboo, with bright colored flowers adding to the beauty. She expected to see the bright blue waterfall that graced Padme’s palace with its presence. She saw none of that; instead she saw possibly the most beautiful scenery she’s ever witnessed.

The bright blue waterfall was frozen over and it shimmered at every angle. The blue and green landscapes were covered with frost and glittering ice. A fresh blanket of snow covered the ground and it sparkled in the present sunlight.

Ahsoka’s jaw dropped when she saw Padme’s palace. It was covered with the same sparkly snow that dusted the ground and silver ornaments dangled from the peaks and window sills. The glass windows and doors were frosted and Ahsoka was sure her breath would fog them up. She wanted to try so badly. Her hands were pressed against the window now. She wanted so badly to jump off the cruiser and bathe in the dusty white flakes.

It was barely snowing outside, but the little white flakes were just enough to impress. The trees and plants were also dusted with the white, in fact, the snow buried most trees, and white branches were the only indication the covered objects were trees. A large white tree stood in the center of the palace, in Padme’s Square. Ornaments of every size and colors of gold, silver, and red filled the snowy branches.

On top of the beautiful tree rested a piercing bright gold star, so big it weighed probably hundreds of pounds. Tinsel and beads also filled the tree. Ahsoka smiled and closed her eyes. She couldn’t imagine anything more beautiful.

They soon landed and Padme grabbed the luggage and opened the door. Ahsoka was only dressed in her tube top, short skirt, boots, and a short cloak. Padme jumped down into the snow and turned to Ahsoka. She laughed. Ahsoka was terrified. She clutched her hands together and touched one foot to the snow. Cold radiated through her body and she jumped back.

Padme smiled and decided she need a little coaxing, so she bent down and formed a snowball in her gloved hands. Once the dusty white flakes had become somewhat circular, Padme aimed at Ahsoka, who was deeply concentrating on the snow, and fired.

Ahsoka screamed. Once the cold touched her skin, she was immediately chilled. Once she wiped the snow off, she realized her friend was laughing at her. Ahsoka was not about to take that. She jumped down, ignoring the cold and formed a snowball of her own.

“No, Ahsoka, no!” Padme laughed. Ahsoka threw her snowball at Padme who was desperately trying to block it.

“Well, that’s it!” Padme screamed and laughed as she ducked behind a nearby tree to form several snowballs.

“Oh so this is what you do on Christmas?” Ahsoka asked.

Padme was too focused on making snowballs to answer. She came out from behind the tree and threw four snowballs at Ahsoka.

“No, this is what children do on Christmas!” She laughed and kept forging any snowballs she could.

Ahsoka meanwhile, was behind the cruiser and making her own snowballs. When she came out from the cruiser, she couldn’t find Padme.

                “Padme?” She asked quietly.

“Right here,” Padme said behind her and when Ahsoka turned, she threw more snow at Ahsoka’s face. Ahsoka couldn’t see, so she was wildly chucking her snowballs in any direction.

The two started laughing unbearably. Padme fell into the snow laughing and Ahsoka was trying to get the snow out of her eyes. They fell together in a big snow mound where both started to freeze.

“Madam Amidala!” The two heard someone shout. “Intruder!”

Ahsoka was confused. “Relax, Mika,” She looked at Ahsoka.

“This is Mika, one of my head maids. Mika, this is Ahsoka, a Jedi.”

The maid formed an ‘o’ with her mouth and helped Padme from the ground.

“Master Jedi, my apologies.” The maid reconciled. Ahsoka smiled and got up. The two girls were freezing.

“Let’s get you both inside.” The maid could see that Ahsoka was still a child, as Padme was acting the same.

Once inside, the maids started a warm fire and brewed cocoa for the girls to drink. They sat down by the fire and Padme told Ahsoka some of her fondest Christmas memories.

“Snowball fights are fun, but nothing beats building a snowman.” Padme commented.

                “A what?” Ahsoka asked.

“A snowman!” Ahsoka looked confused. “You’ve never built a snowman?” Ahsoka shook her head.

Padme got up and offered her hand to Ahsoka. They slid off their blankets and grabbed two warm fur parkas to wear in the snow.

“Well,” Padme said, “Do you want to build a snowman?”
