I was marching deeper into the castle. I think the others were yelling after me but everything was mumbled. I felt fuzzy and numb. My brain felt static and all I could do was march forward. I only got so far and then realized I had fallen to my knees again. Jenny appeared in front of me and helped me up. As soon as I was stable, I started walking again. I walked a few feet and then I felt a tug on my arm holding me back.
I looked back to look in the eyes of Victor who's eyes were still damp with a few small tears. He had those puppy dog eyes that were so cute, but my mouth was drawn in a straight simple line. I slowly looked down and calmed down. I could hear them again when I stood there and just breathed.
"Jeffrey," Victor said quietly.
I felt my heart pound at the sound of my name. I leaned against a wall behind me and slid down it.
"Please... For right now, call me Epic."
"Sorry, Epic. Just you need to take a moment. You can't just rush into a fight," He said comfortingly.
Jenny smiled at me and I looked up blankly. I didn't know what to say. I just wanted to push past my problems and help Christina. I wanted this over with.
"We need to stop Christina though. She's waiting for us."
"Exactly, she's waiting. You just need to rest for a second," Jenny said.
"I just need to get this over with."
I continued marching forward, Jenny and Victor following closely behind me when there was a commotion back with the others. We stopped and turned around to see Luis holding Ben in a chokehold. I immediately rushed back to them, and as I approached, Luis held up a hand.
"Plot twist, I'm one of the Reos Haei. Now no one gets near me or I'll kill him, I swear!"
We all held up our hands and Luis went around a corner down a side hallway. As he did, Jenny, Dr. Roberto, Victor and I rushed down the hallway to find Luis gone.
"That's it. Let's find Christina."
I walked down the hallway, and the RP's followed me. We made a few twists and turns and then we found a courtyard that bordered the edge of the canyon the castle was on. Christina was standing on the edge, looking out into the canyon.
"Hey brother," She said coldly.
"This is over, where are my friends?"
"Oh, those fools?"
She raised her hand as a purple aura surrounded her hand. Ice pillars rose from the canyon behind her, lifting up cages. Katherine and Ben were in two of them.
"Let them go," I demanded.
"I apologize, but I can't do that."
I looked down for a second, then I swung my fist swiftly, releasing a shot of fire directly towards her. She quickly swung her arm around, as an ice gauntlet appeared on her hand and she deflected the fire. Nathan used the super speed he acquired from killing Dan and approached Christina. Christina launched ice spikes, Nathan dodged every shot. Nathan shot his hand forward, launching dark energy right into her face. She screamed and backed up.
Andrew came from the side and his hands glowed a pastel yellow color, as he collapsed the rock beneath her. She quickly gained her balance though and summoned an ice platform to stand on. Andrew redirected his focus and the ice melted. Christina fell to a knee and then bounced back up.
"We have all the powers of your so-called Dark Souls. There's nothing you can do."
"Dammit Rex, your powers have a downside," She swore under her breath.
