"Gunner told me he loved me." "What did you say?" "I said I knew he did." "You didn't say it back?" "I'm not ready to, but I'm worried if I don't say it back then he'll just stop saying it." "Oh honey." She wrapped me up in a hug. "I'm sure he will never stop loving you." I felt comforted by what she was saying. "Now come on. We've got to make sure everyone else gets ready for the ball. Are we still holding it at that one place we went to last year?" "Yeah my family flew in last night. They made the reservations." "So this will also be the first time Gunner meets your family." "Oh I didn't think of that." "Hey hey it's okay no stress no stress let's just go check on everyone else okay?" I nodded as I got out of bed and we walked downstairs. The Gomez family was relaxing in the living room. "So Gomez family welcome to my humble abode." "Abode you mean mansion." Micah said and Christian nudged him. "Tonight is the annual Christmas ball that my family and I like to host every year. We invite friends and family and thankfully enough my parents decided to hold it here this year. We would love for you all to join us. We even might have a special visit from Santa." "Santa?!?" Olivia yelled jumping up from the couch. "Mommy can we go please!!!" Olivia begged her mother. "We wouldn't want to cause any trouble." "Of course not it's a free invitation. It's one night out to enjoy yourselves in the celebration of Christmas Eve." "And you said your family would be there? I'd be interested to meet the woman that birthed you and the people who raised you. Ask them what they think of your life style." Mrs. Gomez said in a haughty voice. Just when I thought I had escaped her calling me a slut or a whore here I was back in again. I kept a smile plastered to my face. "I'm sure my parents would love to meet you." "Julia do you mind if my parents come along?" Woods asked. "Of course not Woods your whole family is invited." I could see Mrs. Gomez lean over and whisper to Gunner. "I thought they were siblings? They have two sets of parents! What kind of sinful messed up family is this? After tonight son you end it if you know what's good for you." Gunner went to say something, but I interrupted him. "So since this is a rather formal event if any of you brought suit and tie or dresses then those would be perfect for tonight." "I didn't bring a dress." Olivia said pouting. "Then how about you me and Gunner go find you a dress?" She smiled. "Okay!" She ran to go get her boots on. I put on my boots and coat and Gunner did the same. We climbed into my car and Olivia buckled in the back. I played some Christmas music as we drove down past the lights and to the stores. I could see Gunners hand balled into a fist. I reached over and held his hand as he relaxed and turned his hand over to lace his fingers in mine. "Relax babe. I'll talk to her tonight okay?" "You don't have to." "I don't want this to cause any more hurt for you. Okay?" He wrapped his pinky around mine and kissed my hand. "I love you." "I know." I said smiling as we continued to drive down the road. We parked and started walking through the mall. "Why don't you two go look for dresses. I have some last minute shopping I need to finish. I will meet you guys by the car okay?" I nodded and kissed him as Olivia and I went to go find a dress. "Okay girl. What's the goal?" "I want to look like a princess." "You already are a princess." "But I don't look like one." I thought for a minute. "I don't think just any Christmas dress is gonna do them for a princess we need THEE Christmas dress." I took her to a store that normally sold prom dresses or bridesmaid dresses and asked them about flower girl dresses. They showed us to the back and she looked around before one caught her eye. She ran over to it and pointed to it. "This one! It's so pretty!!" I asked for her size and I showed her to the changing rooms to try it on. "Close your eyes I don't want you to see it yet!" She demanded from the changing room. "Yes your majesty!" I closed my eyes and covered them while she walked out and stood in front of the three mirrors on the little platform. "Okay open!" She said giggling. I opened my eyes. "Oh Olivia! That's gorgeous! You look just like a princess except one thing is missing hold on!" I stepped around the corner and picked out a tiara. I placed it on her head. "Every princess needs a crown." She turned to look at herself in the mirror. She was smiling from ear to ear. Gunner walked in carrying some bags and I waved him over. "I think we found the dress." I said and Gunner looked at his sister. Gunner stood there speechless. "Gun gun don't cry." Olivia said as he knelt down and she held his face in her hands. "It's just a dress." "Eres muy bella princesa." She smiled and kissed him. "Careful there. You gonna have to find your own prince. This one is taken." I said laughing as Gunner stood up. He leaned over and whispered in my ear, "How much is this gonna cost?" "Don't worry about it." I said through a smile. He kissed my cheek. "Okay Olivia you have to take it off so I can go pay for it okay? This is my Christmas gift to you." She hugged me before running back to take off the dress. She handed it to me under the door and I took it to the counter and paid for it. She came back out and we headed home. Once home everyone was in the process of getting ready. The boys were ready before the girls were and they were getting ansié. They decided to leave in one car and Olivia, Kierstien, and I would meet up with them later. Olivia was the first to get dressed as we curled her hair and put very little natural makeup on her. She looked herself over in the mirror. "And now we have one princess!" She screamed in excitement. "I look so pretty!!"
