Wx-78 watched from afar as a plant-like creature roamed around, stopping occasionally to talk to the flowers or trees as if they were it's friends. As if they were having a conversation!

The robot huffed, crouching even lower into the berry-less bushes. They had went out to see if any new berries had grown, but they had got distracted after spotting a certain living plant.

It looked somewhat humanoid, with the torso, legs and arms being human shaped. Although, the creature was pretty far away. Wx acknowledged that if they wanted a better look they should move closer. They shifted, before darting over to another bush, slightly closer to the living plant. The robot repeated this strategy until they were a good five feet apart.

Wx-78 studied them closely, analyzing them. Upon further inspection, it seemed to be some sort of sentient mass of plants itself. Perhaps... vines? Wx guessed that the crystal on them acted as some sort of mother board, moving the vines around to make a living, possibly breathing, creature.

It's eyes were hallow, empty, and Wx wondered if they were even for seeing, or just looking cute. If it was the latter, Wx thought they did a pretty good job of it. At least, Wx was pretty sure that's what cute meant. They gathered little research on the matter of cuteness, as there were little things the other survivors would say were 'cute'. But Wx had at least gathered that it was meant as a sort of compliment. Usually one that made the receiver rather flustered- oh, what if the plant could blush that would be cute-

Wx shook their head somewhat violently, trying to clear the image in their mind. They had gotten distracted and by now the plant had disappeared, probably noticing them and running off-

"BOO!"

Wx jumped forwards swinging over to shoot a glare at the living plant, practically fuming, how dare they!

"Oh! Do not fear! Mean no harm!" The living plant yelped quickly after seeing their reaction, throwing their hands up in gesture as if they backing down.

"WHO ARE YOU? AND WHY DID YOU DO THAT?" Wx questioned, not that they expected an answer. They just felt the need to say, something. Almost as if to prove they hadn't been startled by the stunt the living plant pulled.

"Noticed robot friend staring, decided to have fun! Didn't mean to be mean!" The living plant sounded almost sorrowful, and Wx probably would've felt bad if the empathy module had been working.

"YES, WELL, DON'T DO IT AGAIN. AND ALSO DON'T CALL ME 'ROBOT FRIEND', MY NAME IS WX-78"

"N-name? What ...a name?" The plant said, pairing Wx's disbelieving look with it's confused one. "YOU...YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT A NAME IS?" The plant shook it's head, and Wx shifted uncomfortably. How where they supposed to explain that? Unless they didn't have to...

"FINE THEN. YOU WILL COME WITH BACK TO MY BASE WHERE THE FLESHLINGS WILL EXPLAIN IT TO YOU. FOR NOW, YOU HAVE MY PERMISSION TO CALL ME ROBOT. BUT NOT FRIEND." The plant nodded in response. "Ok, but what base?" The plant asked, to the frustration of Wx. Where they going to have to explain everything to this plant?

"IT IS WHERE MY STUFF IS" Wx said curtly, before starting to walk toward their base, gesturing for the plant to follow them. Thankfully, plant complied, jogging slightly for a moment to catch up. Although Wx would never say it out loud, they were relieved to see the plant following them. There were few things Wx liked, but this plant seemed to hit the mark when it came too what Wx liked. Good-hearted, with good intentions and a silly, almost ditzy attitude, and un-human.

Speaking of the few Fleshlings Wx enjoyed, Webber strolled over to Wx, smiling happily up at them, before noticing the living plant and practically squealing. "Did you find another monster friend?!" Webber ran over to the plant, smiling at it to. "Hello! Our name is Webber!" Webber smiled again "Uh... don't know what name is" Wx expected Webber to be shocked at this, instead they shook their head, still smiling "We thought so. Don't worry, Wurt didn't know much English at first either, you'll get the hang of it!" Webber practically beamed at them before turning back to Wx "Dad's at base still if you want his help" a huff "I DON'T NEED WILSON'S HELP. I WILL DO  THIS ON MY OWN" Wx said, crossing their arms like how they had seen the fleshlings when they argued "Of course ya will! We believe in you" Webber said before turning left whilst saying "Bye Wx! Bye Wx's new plant friend" Webber called as Wx waved, and, out of corner of their
optical sensors (Also known as eyes), they saw the living plant do the same.
