Maui lays unconscious on the sand. Bits and of sand hit Maui in the face. Maui twitches the second time flakes scribble over his nose. Maui wiggles his large tanned-snoz. Maui breathes in deep right as the second wave of sand flakes launch his way. The sand shoots right up his nose and Maui sneezes. He flips over into a palm tree. Coconuts fall on his head. One, SMACK! Two, SMACK! Three, POW!
"Huh, I'm awake...ouch! Why does my head hurt?" asks Maui, "Coconuts!" Maui snatches a few of them up and breaks them in half against each other. He sucks and splashes the coconut nectar all over his long round face. He stops and looks over his coconut spread to see a pig half-cocked staring at him.
"What? You never saw a guy chow down on some cocoa milk?" says Maui.
The pig just oinks and gruffs and cocks his head in the other direction.
"At least this time I wake up imprisoned on an Island with a pig. Better than being alone I guess. I wonder how fat you could get?" says Maui, as he takes a final slurp of his coconut and tosses the shells to the side.
"Hey, Peppa you got any family members. It's been a while since I've had a barbeque and I could go for some nice roasted -," before he could finish a woman appears from beyond the brush and palms behind the pig.
"Pua! There you are. Oh, hello," says Sina.
"Woaaa!" says Maui, as he climbs up the coconut tree bursting through a nest with a sparrow in it. The sparrow grabs her eggs and looks at Maui with disgust as he wears the nest like a crown.
"Oh, I'm sorry. Here you go," says Maui, as he sets the nest back in the center of the tree.
The sparrow places her eggs in the nest and chirps at Maui. She flies into his face and pecks at his forehead.
"Come on! I said I was sorry," says Maui.
Tattoo Maui laughs silently before he draws a tree and jumps down off of it.
Maui looks down and his imbedded sidekick, "That is not funny," says Maui.
Creeks and cracks begin to sound of the palm branch collapsing.
"You're going to fall," says Sina, as she clasps her mouth.
Pua looks away letting out a snort. As the branch gives way releasing Maui to the ground. He falls face-first as the branch peels all the way down the side of the palm. Maui gets up and brushes the sand out of his hair.
"Sand in my hair. That is just great!" says Maui struggling to shake all the sound out.
Sina and Pua stare at him. The sparrow laughs and chirps it up as the peeled branch launches at the momma sparrow. The sparrow flies off into the distance as the branch comes back and knocks Maui right on his moppy-noggin. Maui stumbles and lands against the broken palm. The nest slides down into Maui's lap.
"Oh, man. I did not see that coming. Eggs!" says Maui, "This Island is way better than my last abandoned Island. You have any lava vents here so we can cook these babies up?" asks Maui.
Pua bursts back toward the village oinking and grunting the whole way.
"Now that is fast food," says Maui.
"We don't eat eggs or pets here, sorry. My name is Sina," says Sina.
"My name is, huh-," says Maui. Think Maui you can do this it's just a human just tell her your name. I'm sure Moana was just bluffing when she said you weren't anyone's hero.
Maui looks down at Tattoo Maui who's biting his nails. Little ink nail parts fly all over his left peck as he runs around in circles in panic.
"Your name is, Huh?" says Sina, as she strokes her chin arm overarm.
"Heihei! My name is Heihei," says Maui.
Tattoo Maui wipes his forehead. Maui flexes his left peck tossing Tattoo Maui onto his back. Maui smiles at Sina who glares at him with much concern.
"My daughter has a chicken named Hei-Hei. We haven't seen him since she left. I hope he didn't walk off one of those cliffs or fall into a whole. He isn't much for brains," says Sina.
"You can say that again," says Maui.
"What?" says Sina.
"Wait, you have a daughter?" says Maui, as he blinks blankly at Sina.
A chicken named Heihei. An Island with people and pigs on it, and angry birds in coconut trees. The fact that it has trees makes it way cooler than our old island.
SNAP!
"Ouch," says Maui, as he looks down to Tattoo Maui.
Tattoo Maui lets go of the tattoo border and points to an island in the distance bearing a striking resemblance to an ink drawing of...
"My daughter's name is Moana. She has a pet chicken named Heihei," says Sina. "Why don't you come with me and I'll introduce you to the village.
Sina walks over toward the brush and the palm leaves and pushes them aside to cross through to the village on the other side. Tattoo Maui points toward the brush line and pushes on his skin.
"No, we are not following Moana's mom or meeting her dad. What if they figure out I'm the guy that broke the world," says Maui.
Tattoo Maui turns into a giant eagle and swirls around in an ink-made water spout. Tattoo Maui gets struck by ink lightning then falls in the ink ocean his hook floats away. Tattoo Maui floats back onto a rock perch and launches his arms toward Maui.
"Thanks for reminding me that we once again lost our hook," says Maui.
Tattoo Maui waves his ink hook around.
"It doesn't matter. Without my hook I'm nothing. Even with my hook, I was nothing. And now I'm trapt on this island with the family of a girl I just left in the ocean," says Maui, as he leans against the palm.
Sina pops back through the brush. "Normally we don't take in large and weird talking sea people that like to palm trees, so if you are coming then I'll stop thinking of you as a crazy person."
"Right," says Maui, he smiles, "What did you say this island was called again?"
"Motunui," says Sina.
You should have never left this place Moana. You should have turned around.
