- Chloe's POV-
"Okay dad, chill!" I yelled at my dad.
I was wearing a pink tank top, jean shorts, and brown boots. No matter what I did, and wore, my father always thought I was wrong. I ran back upstairs, and changed into skinny jeans, still with the tank top and boots.
"Happy?!" I said sarcastically, rolling my eyes.
"I guess," mumbled my father as he grabbed the car keys and walked out the door, me following.
My dad and I were going to go give my mother our daily visit in the hospital. We were all hoping she would be released today, so she can spend more time with us. I hated being alone with my dad, I mean we dont really talk, so its super quiet in our house. We only talk when he asks what I want for dinner.
"Hey mom," I said as I entered her hospital room.
"Hello," she said plainly. Today she didn't look like mom, she was pale and her eyes we droopy.
"Mom, you okay?" I asked
"Yeah, just one of my bad days," she replied with a weak smile.
"You sure?" asked my dad concernly, "because, you dont look like it."
"Yeah, im fine guys, believe me, so how was school Chlo?" she asked me, changing the subject.
We went on and on about different things, sharing laughs, and just trying to cheer up my mom. My dad and I would put on an act to make my mom happy. In the middle of my mom's conversation, her eyes were starting to close.
"Mom?!" I half shouted. No response.
My dad rushed outside and called in nurses and doctors. They all came rushing in and shoving us out. I broke down in tears and my dad, for once, comforted me. Then all the doctors came out. Thats when my heart went crazy.
"Okay, so it seems to be she didnt get enough rest last night, and her body over took her. She is basically just sleeping right now. She will most likely be awake tommorow.", said the doctor nicely.
A sense of relief over came me.
"Thank you," replied my dad and we went back inside.
I kissed my moms forehead, as so did my dad. We both left and drove home. The ride home was awkward, as always. As soon as we got home, I went upsstairs, took a shower, and headed off to sleep.
I woke up the next morning with my cheecks feeling dry. I got out of bed and looked in the mirror. Oh yeah, I forgot, I was crying last night, thinking about what would happen if I lost my mom that night. I sighed, and got in the shower. I got out, put on a black v neck shirt, and sweats, with shorts under, so i could wear them to school without hearing my dads mouth. I curled my hair, put on light make up, and put on my black sandals. I walked downstairs and ate a muffin.
"Lets go," said my dad, already opening the door.
"Im not even donbe wi-"
"Were gonna be late! Wanna be late? Fine, walk to school," said my dad, then left. I stood there, in shock, until I felt my eyes water. I walked to school and got there 20 minutes late. Thanks dad.
During my lunch, i sat with my 7 best friends, laughing and having a good time. Having a good time all until I got a text from my dad. The text read: Chloe, get to the hospital NOW. I dont care if you ditch school, just now.
I panicked and asked my senior friend with a car if she could ditch with me and take me. She sweetly agreed and we jumped the fence and ran out to her car and drove quickly.
When we got to the hospital, we both rushed to the elevator to my moms floor and when the doors opened, my whole family was there. My family never got along, but they were all there and talking and stuff. I walked out the elevator, and when I was gonna ask what happened, 9 doctors ran into my mom's room...
