Chapter 34

Sarah's POV:
Even though Matt told me to fall asleep, I didn't listen to him.
I kept my eyes wide open and listened for anything he said.
"Listen, guys, Sarah's not feeling well."
"Ugh come on. Can't we stay?" I hear Jack G ask.
Please say yes Matt.
"Um I guess. But we can't be that loud."
Thank you Matt.
"Let's play truth or dare!" I hear Nash say. I can hear footsteps moving downstairs and the floor creaking.
"Okay. Who's first?" I hear Cameron say.
"Um me I guess." I hear Vanessa say. She's so shy I'm surprised that she volunteered.
"Truth or dare?" Cameron asks Vanessa.
"Dare."
"Okay. I dare you to sit on Jacks lap for the rest of the game."
"Easy." I hear her moving and I guess she's seated on his lap now.
"Okay, Nash truth or dare?"
"Truth."
"Who was the last girl you...ya know." I hear everyone gasp and some laugh.
"Alex....." Everyone laughs at him.
"Okay okay enough! Matt, truth or dare?"
"Truth."
"Why did you really help Sarah that day?" Everything goes silent.
I sit up from his bed and slowly walk out so I'm at the top of the stairs.
I want to hear what Matt has to say.
"I helped her because I was being an idiot. I was being a jerk, a bully, I was basically killing her. Everyday the look on her face put me in the worst mood. But I thought I was cool. I wasn't. And I needed to help her through this. So, after she ran into the girl locker room, I ran after her. She let me in the stall she was crying in and was so afraid of me. Like I was some kind of monster. I kneeled down beside her and kissed her cheek. She still didn't believe that I changed. But after that moment, I wanted to become her best friend. Show her that I'm not a monster and that I'm this superhero. And here we are now, almost 6 months later, and she's the best girlfriend ever." Everyone is still silent.
"Matt.." I start to say, but immediately stop.
Shit.
I'm supposed to be asleep.
"I'm gonna go check on Sarah." He says and I hear him heading my way.
I quickly get under the covers and pretend to be asleep.
I hear him walk in the room and I slowly open my eyes.
"I know your not sleeping." He says, and walks towards me.
"Thank you. For saving me." I grab his face and kiss him. I he smiles through the kiss and it's so cute.
"I love you." He says to me.
I nod and he stays with me the rest of the night.
