(I've never actually been to Milkshake City, so sorry if I get it all messed up with how it looks inside)
The car stops in front of Milkshake City.
"Thank you," I say and get out of the car. My phone starts ringing as I step towards the shop. It's Brad again. He's called me about five times now. I refuse to pick up. I refuse to give in again.
Bradley's P.O.V(When Grace left):
I stand in shock watching my baby drive away. I can see her looking at me through the back window. When I come back to reality after five seconds, I sprint to my car and quickly get in. I get out of the parking lot as fast as I can, to try and follow the Uber but when I get on the road, it's gone. Fuck. Shit. Bloody hell, I lost her.
I get home in 20 minutes, driving over the speed limit when I could. I tried calling Grace four times while I drove.
"Tris?" I call out.
"In my room," he yells back. I storm up the stairs and into his room.
"Grace is gone," I run a hand through my hair and tug at the ends.
"What do you mean 'Grace is gone'?" he asks through gritted teeth.
"We got in a bit of a fight at the mall and she ran away. She took an Uber and I don't know where she went. She's gone, Tris! I-"
"Brad, stop!" Tris interrupts me, "I think I might know where she is,"
"Where? Tell me, I need her!" I feel tears pressing against my eyes. I really need her. I really don't deserve her but I really really need her. She's the only thing keeping me slightly sane.
"Follow me, I'll drive you," He stands up from his office chair and quickly puts on some real clothes. I follow him downstairs and into his car.
"I really wanna punch you in the face right now, you know," Tris says as he drives onto the road.
"I know," I run a hand through my hair again. I always do this when I'm stressed. That and smoke, but that's only when it's really bad. And when I'm not inside a car. I could really use a smoke right now, though. I take my phone out of my pocket and call her again. Nothing.
After a few minutes, we park in front of a milkshake café.
"Here it is. This is usually where she goes when she's feeling stressed or sad," He looks at the store through his window. I nod slowly.
"What if she doesn't wanna see me?"
"She probably doesn't since she ran away from you,"
"Fair enough. What if she's not there?"
"Brad, calm down. We'll find her! Just go in there!" He leans over me and opens the door for me. I look at him one last time and he motions for me to get out. So I do. I step out of the car and onto the sidewalk. I take a deep breath before opening the door to Milkshake City. I get inside the store and look around. And I see her. Sitting at one of the tables, sipping a milkshake. Her hair is covering her face, hiding her from the outside world. I sit down on the chair on the other side of the table. She looks up from her drink and her face goes pale for just a second.
"What are you doing here?" She collects herself and suddenly looks all tough and mad. It's very cute.
"Your brother told me you were gonna be here,"
"Okay, well I'm here, you can leave now," She takes a sip from her milkshake.
"I'm not leaving with you," I say calmly. I run a hand through my hair, almost breaking my calm facade. Luckily for me, I'm a very good actor. What I really wanna do is kiss her over and over, but I can't. I fucked up. I'm fucked up. I just can't let her find out about it. Not yet.
"Then I'll leave. Alone." She gets up from her chair and grabs her drink. I stand up at the same time and she just looks at me.
"Just come home with me, please,"
"Brad, please, leave me alone," she whines quietly. I have to hold myself from scolding her. It definitely is not the right time.
"I'm not gonna leave you alone, Grace, and I doubt you're gonna leave alone, your brother is parked outside," I didn't mean it as a threat but it kind of came out like one. She turns around on her heel and walks out into the cold December air. I follow right behind her. Tristan gets out of the car and embraces her. I stay about 5 feet away from them. He's mumbling calming things to her. I really can't let her find out. It would ruin everything. I don't want her to hate me forever. After a little bit, they get in the front seats of the car and I get in the back and we drive home in silence.
