Caroline Rouse has lived in Forks, Washington her entire life. She lives the same cookie cutter lifestyle every other family in town does. Her mother is a therapist in Port Angeles and her father owns a drugstore, the only one in fact. The small building rests on the edge of town, close to the residents of Forks and those living in La Push, a Native American reservation just a few miles from her hometown. The Rouse's were as normal as you could possibly be.
The summer before her senior year, Caroline had one thing on her mind: work at the drugstore every single day. Sure, she would have loved to spend the vacation with her group of friends, but seeing as they were all out of town, she could either work or die of boredom.
Caroline was perfectly fine doing nothing fun for two and a half months. But the moment someone walks into the store and locks eyes with her, her summer plan disappears. And Caroline is happy to let it.
