"You need to contact Cyhiraeth

"You need to contact Cyhiraeth. She can help you."

From my place on my bed, I slowly shake my head. But even that makes the headache worse. "I've never tried contacting someone. They just appear when they die and go on their way."

Spirit Julian scoffs and lays besides me. "I'm here, aren't I?"

"Yeah, but you just showed up randomly."

"Because you contacted me." I turn onto my side to face him. "When you were grieving your spirit called out to mine. Our connection is incredibly strong so it was easy. Contacting Cyhriaeth will be difficult because you've never met her, also she's hella old." His lips form a goofy smile.

"How do you know so much about this? I'm supposed to be the banshee."

Julian rises to his feet and makes his way to the window, looking at the leaves falling. "Some other spirits came to me a few days ago." The bitterness in his voice has me sitting up. "They found out we know each other. One of them is a shifter from the same pack Cyhriaeth's mate was from. They want to return to the mortal world. They say you can do that. The shifter knew you were struggling with your abilities, she said Cyhriaeth can help."

"Why would I help them?" His silence worries me, and I push myself to my feet. "They threatened you, didn't they?" He says nothing. "Did they hurt you?"

He turns around to face me and shakes his head. "They just pushed me around a little. Nothing I can't handle." His words don't make me feel any better. "But what if they're right? What if you can bring someone back to the mortal world?"

"Jules..." What if I can't bring him back? What if none of it is true? "We don't know it will work."

Julian nods solemnly. His aura flickers for a second before he disappears altogether.

~~~~~~
"Come on, none of them could possibly be bad in bed."
The wind pushes my hair to the right of my head, it's chilliness making the already cold air worse. With no new vampires spotted in the last few weeks, Sam decided a day at the beach was exactly what the pack needed. The imprints were invited as well, like one big family get together.
And while half of the pack plays a game of soccer, us imprints find ourselves talking about all sorts of random topics. How we got to the one we're on now? I have no clue.
"I mean, they're strong and built. I imagine it's the same for you guys as it is for me and Jared." Kim looks unashamed by her statement, while the rest of us stare at her with wide eyes. "You know what I mean, Emily."
The older woman chokes on her tea. "I am so not having this conversation. Besides, if any of the boys hear the entire pack will know by tonight."
Kim groans and turns her eyes to me. "What about you, Care? How's Paul?" Nova smirks.
"I think it's best I just keep my mouth shut." Is all I say to her.
Nova scoffs. "Only cause you haven't even done anything." My jaw drops and I push my friend onto the sand, grinning when she gets sand in her mouth. "What? It's true."
"Yeah, and you were the only other person who knew that." Nova shrugs. "Fine, what about you and Embry?"
The blonde smiles, her eyes sparkling mischievously. "He's a hell of a lot better than Davey Goris." Kim whistles.
A pair of lips place a kiss on my cheek. I grin at Paul as he pulls me into his chest. "Is Davey Goris that red head who always carries a basketball?" Jared questions while sitting next to Kim. Nova nods and shakes her head at the thought of the boy. He was her first boyfriend and was incredibly egotistical. He thought he was the best basketball player in Forks and La Push and carried a basketball in case he ever needed to prove it. His relationship with Nova was on and off all of sophomore year and the beginning of junior year. Things finally ended when he made a crude comment about his times with her and Riley knocked his two front teeth out.
"What are they talking about?" Emily nods to Leah, Seth, and Jacob, who are sitting far away. "Jacob keeps glaring at us."
Sam sighs. "Jacob's upset about Bella. He's angry at the idea of imprints, saying none of us belong to ourselves anymore." No one responds. How could we?
The silence ends when we realize how late it's gotten. Nova goes with Embry for dinner while I ride with Paul back to my house. I've been staying there ever since that day. I wasn't sure where else to go. My parents were surprised to see me, but one look at my face and they stopped questioning my sudden return.
"You don't think you've changed because of the imprinting, do you? You don't feel like you were forced into this?" Paul suddenly questions.
He spares a quick glance at me before returning to the road. I almost scoff, but know it's not exactly the best reaction. "Of course not. Actually, I like the idea of imprinting. You find your soulmate. There's no worrying about whether or not the person is the right one, because the ancestors tell you they are."
The lights are off in my house, my parents having gone to Seattle for the weekend. They weren't going to go, but after persuading them I'd be fine they relented.
"Do you want to come inside? I have the new season of Criminal Minds on dvd." Paul grins.
I direct Paul to my room while I quickly grab a two liter of Pibb and the pumpkin roll dad made yesterday.
"Serious question." Paul states, plopping himself down onto my bed. "Prentiss or JJ?"
I don't even hesitate before answering. "JJ, definitely JJ."
Honestly love everyone on Criminal Minds. But the scene where JJ disarms the gun (or whatever that move is called) is legit and she's a total badass so she's def my favorite...besides Spencer of course.
