That weekend passed in a repeat fashion: trying and failing to get a hold of Nathan, crying til my voice was hoarse, and having Merlinda and Taelor trying to put me back together again. On Sunday night I was forced to come home and explain everything to my mom and aunt after my mom could hear my voice shake when I finally answered her call instead of replying to her through text. Let's just say their warm feelings towards him instantly turned cold. Both of them had been hurt before, and now that their 'baby' was hurt the person that caused it automatically had a death wish. Even my brother who I swore hated me 24/7 came to hug me, claiming that Nathan wasn't allowed to play his video games anymore. That caused the first real smile I had after what had happened. It wasn't much, but it was enough to push me into actually going to school the next day.

The alarm went off at five the next morning, some talk show hosts voice shouting obnoxiously loud at such an early time. I reached over, managing not to knock everything on my nightstand off and pressed snooze, knowing I didn't need to get up for another hour. Not that I wanted to anyway. Seeing the boy I love, loved, still love?, after he forced me out of his hospital room and blamed me for ruining the teams chance of the champion title is not something I'm anxious to get to. I settle back into the covers, thinking that I could just sleep through school and worry about all of this tomorrow.
That didn't last long though, since only twenty minutes later I heard my door open and the soft padding of sock covered feet against my rug. Then the weight of two bodies falling on top of me, causing me to whine and try to burrow further into the bed instead of waking up to the two very rude people on top of me.
"Uh uh," rude person number one said. "Come on get up."
"Yeah come on wake up lazy ass," rude person number two said.
I sighed, knowing there was no point in trying to fall back asleep now. I wiggled beneath the rude people so that I lay on my back and somehow managed to pry one eye open. I was met with the cheery faces of Taelor and Merlinda, much too cheery for five thirty in the morning in my opinion. "Why are you here and what can I do to make you leave?" I mumbled out, trying and failing to pull to comforter closer to me, making me pout. This is what I get for giving them keys to my house.
"Well for one, we're not leaving so don't try. And two, it is a Monday therefore we're going out to breakfast." Taelor said, standing and walking to my closet, most likely picking out my clothes for the day.
"Our treat of course. Now hurry up and get in the shower, but don't wash your hair I'm gonna curl it today," Merlinda said, dragging me to the bathroom and pushing me gently inside.
I turned on the water almost scalding hot, waking me up along with singing along to whatever song was playing from the radio I kept in the bathroom. I showered quickly, knowing that I needed to give Merlinda enough time to do my hair since we wouldn't be leaving until it was 'perfect'. Just as I wrapped a towel around me the door opened and Taelor was shoving clothes into my hands and saying, "put it on no questions asked," and closing the door. I looked at what she picked out and practically felt my eyes pop out of my head. She's picked out a lacy, cream colored long sleeve with a white bandeau to wear underneath it. She paired it with my very, very tight pair of medium wash, holey jeans and my furry pair of boots with the slight heel on them. I couldn't lie, the outfit was amazing, but maybe Taelor has forgotten that it's almost winter, in Minnesota, the state that could probably get snow in the middle of July. Nevertheless I knew she had a good reason so I slipped on my underwear, surprised she remembered it and then the likely-to-cause-me-to-freeze outfit. I was shocked at how well it looked, just now seeing how playing indoor volleyball over the summer has flattened my stomach and toned my thighs. And the shirt somehow accentuated my smaller chest, making it seem fuller. And the tight pants accentuated my ass and the heels made my legs look like they went on for miles. Then it all clicked. My best friends wanted to get back at Nathan so they were using me, not that I minded of course. I opened the bathroom door just in time for Merlinda to bustle in with the curling iron, making a noise of approval at how I looked. She plopped me down on top of the toilet seat, starting the task of taming my brown wavy hair into pretty curls. It didn't take her long, she was pretty skilled with my hair from me getting her to do something with it all the time. She then ran her fingers through it, making my hair bigger and all around sexier. It was my favorite style. After they both gave me a once over and deemed me acceptable, I decided to play into their little game and put on my best make up: which was a simple winged, smokey eye with soft pink lips. With a spray of perfume I was pronounced finished by me friends. I bundled up heavily before leaving for breakfast, knowing this shirt provided no warmth and I was cold all the time as it is. We walked out of the house quietly, trying not to wake my family and got into Merlinda's car. I got into the passenger seat, turning the heat on blast and taking control of the radio.
