Hello everyone, thank you for picking FATED, final book of my Temper saga! This book can be read as standalone. It contains mild to heavy spoilers for the previous books, though.
I began working on it just as I was wrapping Vindicta, as I chased a plot bunny born while I wrote a key scene in that book where my dear trio (Lana, Honda and Yuki) becomes intimately acquainted with the Goddess Venus herself (yes! yes!) in Italy.
Venus shows them that their fates and souls have always been meant to be together, and for a couple of minutes, she sends them back to feudal Japan where Lana witnesses her husband Honda, wearing a full samurai armor, kill several enemies with a couple of katana strikes. To Honda's shock, the armor wears the crest of another clan - not his, but that of one of the most powerful daimyo lords of the Edo period, Date Masamune.
Later, Lana continues to have flashbacks of the man Honda used to be; even more, she feels in her body and very soul that she - or at least a part of her - intimately knows him, too.
In the Temper timeline, Fated is set about three months after the events of Vindicta.
Lana and her family are back in Tokyo after their arrowing stay in Italy, and their new partner, Commander Francesco Fratellini, is moving to Japan at the request of Interpol. To Honda's delight, Lana's pleasure and Yuki's patient understanding, Francesco tries to find his place in the complex dynamics shared by our trio. But nothing is ever simple for Lana and her loved ones, and this time, she is about to face maybe the biggest challenge of her life...
So let me take you to another kind of journey. Back to Japan - but to two different Japans this time! You're about to meet my fabulous trio (plus one...) TIMES TWO! What's there not to like?
