The Woods

Afternoon~

Sabrina: (sees Nick reading a book) You're here.

Nick: (looked up and smiled) I am.

S: You weren't at the Academy today.

N: I was --- preparing myself.

S: You didn't have to skip your classes.

N: (laughed) You just did yesterday.

S: That was different.

N: Shall we?

S: (wanted to ask more but decided to ask it some other time)

N: So,let's start. As what they teach us, channeling our power to draw energies from Nature or an element to boost our magic.

S: It allows us to harness energies from our surroundings to perform greater magical feats, and cast stronger spells beyond which is usually able to accomplish solely with our own magic.

N: (smiled) Good.

S: But why doesn't it work for me?

N: Well, because this is a bit different from what we're used to. This was removed by Father Blackwood but i see your Aunt has continued to teach it once again. Your father was the one who included it on our lessons.

S: So, why did he take it out?

N: Like i said it's a different kind of magic.

S: What do you mean different?

N: Well, we get our powers from the dark lord and with this type of magic, we are trying to access magic from nature itself.

S: (eyebrows met)

N: (smiled) Okey, so you've tried doing a spell with your aunts i presume?

S: (nodded)

N: Do you have anything of theirs?

S: (rummaged through her bag then shook her head)

N: It's alright --- (he took a ring from a pouch in his pocket and showed it to her and looked at her intently) So, this ring is mine and it is imbued with magic, it will act as a talisman. Now you will try and access my energy and powers within it. It's just like tapping into my energy. (handed her the ring). Now close your eyes, and concentrate. Feel my energy through the ring.

S: (she did as what Nick told her then a moment later, she felt her power becoming stronger)

N: Do you feel that?

S: (She opened her eyes and looked at him smiling) Yeah. Do you feel it too?

N: (smiled at her back and nodded) Now try and do a simple spell with the elements around you.

S: (she looked at the fallen leaves and tried to make them move with a wind and it did just that, she smiled widely at Nick)

N: I knew you could do it.

S: Why do you think i couldn't at the Academy?

N: Channeling is easiest when you are around the elements themselves. Since, i'm guessing you had to do it at a closed room, it probably lowered your probability of succeeding. Also, sometimes because there could be a block on your mind, not allowing you to fully access mind.

S: Well, I'm guessing it's the first one.

N: Nice work.

S: Wanna come over for tea, we're not far from my house.

N: (hesitating) Ahhhh---

S: Please? Just a thank you for the lesson.

N: (took a deep breath and smiled) Okey.

Then they started to walk to the Spellman's house.

S: So, why weren't you at school today?

N: (smiled) I told you, I was preparing myself.

S: Yeah right, because i had to channel your energy, it must've been really exhausting. (sarcastically)

N: (laughed) How was your day?

S: Same old same old.

N: Ever think of going back to your other school?

S: Driving me away, are you?

N: (smiled) So you don't miss your friends? Aren't they really important to you?

S: They are but, --- (right now i feel more at home when i'm at the Academy.)

N: But?

S: Nothing.

N: (raised his eyebrows at her)

They reached Sabrina's house.

~

Spellman's kitchen

S: (gave him a questioning look) Wait, do you even drink tea?

N: (chuckled) Yes. Some calming tea please if you have one, because i was really exhausted from our channeling lesson.

S: (rolled her eyes and but got her auntie Hilda's calming tea and set the water) So, where are you staying? Don't tell me at Dorian's.

N: No, i have a room at the Academy. When do your Aunt usually get home?

S: Late. And sometimes they don't. They just tell me through a magical note if they can't come.

N: And Ambrose?

S: Probably with Prudence.

N: So it's just you most of the time?

S: (nodded)

N: What do you usually do?

S: Head of to Dorian's or just stay at the Sanctum to read.

N: What do you do at Dorian's?

S: (stared at him, trying to figure out if there was a deeper meaning to the question) Have a few drinks and read.

N: (raised his eyebrows)

S: (rolled her eyes) Gross, no, just reading.

N: If you say so. [Glad to know you are still the same.]

S: Do you?

Before Nick could answer, the teapot whistled and Sabrina turned around and prepared the tea.

N: When you saw me being dragged away was the last time. I was --- going through a difficult moment and i just wanted to forget.

Sabrina couldn't turn around, this was the first time Nick ever opened up to her. The last time they talked, she did all the talking since he seemed to genuinely wanted to know more about her. But now she wanted to hear more and know more about him. She slowly turned around and approached him and gave him his tea. He took a sip of it.

S: By a difficult time? --

N: (he did not look at her) I guess you could probably say that it was because of my someone special.

S: What happened?

N: (His eyes focused on his tea) Let's just say i made a sacrifice and now, she's forgotten me.

"You forgot me", he thought. And before he could stop himself, tears rolled down his face. Sabrina took one of his hands. She wanted to ask how it was possible that that person could forget about him but she couldn't bear to see Nick crying which felt weird because she barely even knew him but before she could stop herself she took Nick's hand and pressed it against her lips. Nick, still in tears looked at her and their eyes met. Before they knew it, their lips met. Nick kissed her passionately as if he was yearning, longing for her and Sabrina responded equally, wanting to ease his pain.
