Jaxton's POV

Halfway into the dinner we ever so patiently waited for, we were interrupted by my friend Blaze, which was not fun. After multiple times of trying to explain to him that now was not the time and being interrupted multiple times, I decided that the only logical thing to do would be to wring out his neck. But of course, I couldn't make a scene. That is, until he started making disgusting comments towards my girl which i did not let slide.

Out of the corner of my eye, I notice Lacey glaring daggers at me. Shit.

After having to explain to her about the comments Blaze was making, she seemed off. I knew this wasn't going to go as planned. There just had to be something or someone that just had to ruin it.

Even though she was frustrated with me, I think, I clearly wasn't going to give up on showing her how much I care for her.

Standing up, I walk around the table and hold her face between my hands and kiss her, and when she doesn't push me away, it shows me that she's enjoying it, just as much as I am. That's when applauds fill the air, catching me off guard, forgetting that I had attracted much unwanted attention. But I didn't care at the moment, I was too busy engulfing the euphoria I simply felt just by kissing her.

Sitting back down in our seats, one of the waiters approaches us, taking our dishes as another approaches us to drop off the check.

"L'addition," he says, putting the check down and walking off.

"You ready," I ask her, trying to assess any emotion she might be feeling.

"Yea," she hurriedly says.

"Ok." Wrapping my arm around her waist, I guided her out of the restaurant and towards my bugatti. Opening my passenger door I help her into her seat, lifting up the bottom of her dress and pushing it in the car so that it doesn't get stuck on the outside when I close the door.

I quickly hop in on my side of the car and pull out of the parking spot and head towards traffic, unintentionally.

The car ride is silent for a few minutes before Lacey decides to speak up causing me to tense slightly due to her unexpected request.

"I'd like if you dropped me off at my house please. I've stuff I need to tend to."

"You sure? You're welcome to stay at mine," I offer, glancing at her from my peripheral but also maintaining my focus on the road.

"I'm fine, thanks though, for dinner and everything," she states softly, looking out the window as if lost in thought.

"Alright, your house it is then," I mumble, masking the hurt behind my words.

The rest of the drive was quiet, and almost uncomfortable. As we come to a stop light, I rest my hand on her thigh which causes her to flinch as she looks at me unsure of what to say.

When I look at her, her face reddens, making her look away as if trying to hide her embarrassment.

As we pull into her driveway, she yawns as she stretches her hand out towards her door as if about to open it but I stop her before she has the chance.

"I got it," I say quickly getting out of the car and going over to her side to open her door.

Guiding her up to her door, she hesitates before asking me if I'd like to come inside.
