Lacey's POV

"Oh, but it is indeed funny," he says, displaying a mischievous grin.

"Not here it isn't," I retort, causing him to straighten up and sit back down in his seat.

Clearing my throat, I move onto another topic.

"So, Mr. Jax, tell me about yourself," smirking to myself for my bold question, I bat my eyelashes and look up at him, his gaze fixed intently on me.

He clears his throat before continuing.

"I own multiple companies as well as run the most successful businesses, hmm, I'm handsome, I'm amazing at everything I do, and I take my work life very seriously."

"Wow. Handsome," I laugh. "Very descriptive, might I add, but what do you do?"

"I supervise restaurants," he says as if it's nothing.

"Restaurants?," I question.

"Yep. Restaurants."

"So you're not like a gang leader or anything like that," I ask feeling slightly relieved.

"What!? Who gave you that impression?," he laughs.

"No one, I just figured that everyone has their own secrets because not everyone's perfect."

"Well then, to answer your question no, I am not a gang leader or a drug lord or anywhere near any of those," he concludes.

"That's good to hear," I sigh, moving on.

"Like I was saying," he begins, "I own this restaurant, along with a string of others as well. My job is to make sure business is thriving basically. I get to sit back and watch my businesses thrive is really what I do, and yea."

"You own this restaurant, as in the one we're currently at right now?," I gasp, a little shocked.

"That is correct," he states in an almost sarcastic tone. "So, what is it that you do, Mrs Chambers?"

How the hell does he know my last name?

"H-how do you know my last name?," I ask.

"I know a lot of things, love. And might I add, I can tell I know more about you than you do yourself."

I actually laugh at that.

"Ha. Okay, you really got me there, but I can bet that you don't."

"Okay, let's see, judging by the way you choose to wear your hair on a regular basis, you fit me as the writer type," at that my jaw drops open. "And as for the house you live in, you were an only child. . ." he pauses, continuing to scan me over.

"How do you know those extra bedrooms aren't for my brothers or sisters, huh?," I press.

"Well, judging by the way that your friends were casually staying at your house like they lived there or something, I'd assumed that those rooms are just 'extra' rooms," he says, emphasizing the word extra.

"Well, you still don't know anything about my parents."

"But I do," he casually chuckles.

"Really?"

"Yes. It's obvious your dad isn't in the picture because I had assumed you would have told me about either of your parents by now." he states.

"And as for your mom, I can't quite tell, but, I figure that if she's as interesting as you, her job is probably most likely above my pay-grade."

"What do you mean? How does what my mother does for a living relate to how you think you know her?"

"I figure that since you have a lot of qualities that I adore, that means you had to have come from someone that knew what they were doing when they had you, meaning they probably have a really nice paying job. She's someone with a lot of 'power' so to speak."
