I woke up half an hour later which was confirmed by my screwed up watch. Very slowly, I sat up, yawning outwardly. I looked out at the room, noticing all the other boys were either sleeping or laying in their bed reading a book.

"Hey," I heard someone whisper, and Newt climbed down from the bed above me. "What's up?"

"You were, apparently," I taunted and Newt pushed me to the end of the bed so he could sit on the pillow.

"Don't give me that sass," he jested, and flicked my shoulder, and I laughed, slapping his shoulder back.

He gave me a fake injured look, and whimpered quietly. "Why would you bloody do that?"

"Because I wanted to!" I quietly sang. Newt's funny face melted into a sweet smile, and I stopped laughing, and smiled back.

I looked down when I realized I had been staring for an uncomfortably long time, at least I thought it was uncomfortable. Newt just laughed and sat closer to me.

"So, Minho, right?" Newt whispered looking over at the bed across the room where Minho slept, his entire body covered in a blanket so that he was just a lump of breathing fabric.

"Huh?" I looked at him, confused. "What do you mean?"

"I just mean, I think he likes you," Newt said and scoffed loudly.

"If you're trying to start up a conversation, I don't think is the best way to go about it," I laughed, and looked at Minho again who shifted in his sleep and muttered something that I couldn't understand. "But I guess he is kinda cute."

This time Newt laughed, and he had to cover his mouth so he didn't wake up the other boys. Winston and Jack who were playing cards looked over and gave Newt a weird look. "Hardly. Have you seen him? The shank is as ugly as a donkey!"

"Well that's just plain mean." I folded my arms and elbowed Newt in the rib cage. "He is not ugly."

Newts laughter died down and we both settled down, and sat in silence, until the boy pulled out another question. "What happened to your kind-of-boyfriend?"

I remembered our talk in my room, when I accidentally made Newt cry, and I felt terrible. I also remembered that I had mentioned John. Sighing audibly I combed back my long hair with my fingers, letting the blue hair fall over my eyes.

"When we had figured out the maze, all of the boys, and me, went into the maze to wage 'war' on the stupid Grievers." Pausing, I looked up at Newt to see him staring at me with concerned eyes. "We were so close to getting out with no casualties, until a Griever grabbed my hair and pulled me out of the exit, but before it could eat my guts, Will jumped onto the thing, stabbing its eyes out. I ran for the exit, but I left him behind. He was eaten by a Griever because I was too scared to look back." I let my head rest against the wall so I looked up at the mattress above my bed. "Biggest mistake of my life."

"Oh," Newt whispered, tearing his eyes off me. "Well, my friend got eaten by a Griever, and my friend's friend got shot by one of my kind-of-friends, then Minho stabbed that guy in the chest. So...yeah, you're not alone. At all." His arm wrapped around my shoulder and pulled me to his side, as friends. Maybe.

Half an hour later, I was jolted awake by the clang of metal meeting concrete when Thomas pushed open the vent from under Minho's bed, and pulled himself out from under it in a fury of desperation. He was absolutely freaking out. I could barely even get up before he whipped off Newts blanket who was sitting beside me.

"Tommy! What the heck!" Newt shouted as Thomas began to tie the blanket around the lock of the door, confusing everyone in the room, who were all awake by now.
