Hm... the previous chapters have had so much fluff and stuff (Hey that rhymed!). I think it's time for a little angst...
Sans P.O.V.
"What do you like about me, Sans?"
Well, sweetheart,
"Hahaha!" Frisk laughed. Feeling my grin slowly grow, I awkwardly stood dumbfounded.
It was beautiful.
She was beautiful.
Your laugh,
She reached her hand out to me. The barrier softly illuminated her outline.
"We can do this, Sans. We can break the barrier. Do you trust me?" My "heart" skipped a beat.
"Of course."
Your positivity,
"Frisk, get down from the tree. You're going to fall." The brunette absentmindedly hummed a response as she dangerously dangled her legs from the tree branch.
"I'm not worried about falling, though. You know why?" I frowned, "Why, sweetheart?" Frisk turned to me, her slight smile ever so radiant.
"Because I know you'll catch me."
How you trusted me,
"What did you do!" She screamed.
My wrists were littered with self-inflicted scars. Tears fell down both our faces. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry." Frisk sobbed.
I held her in my arms. "Why..?"
You loved me when I didn't love myself,
I woke up in a cold sweat. This must be a dream. We were back in Snowdin. No, no, no, no, no!
I rushed to the bridge. There she was. My breathing heaved. The message didn't need words.
Why.
She sighed. "I... I think I can save Chara and Asriel, please just give a chance. Give them a chance. They died wanting the best for their kingdom." Sighing, I embraced her in my arms. I breathed out softly, "Okay. I trust you."
How you were so caring,
A loud bang was heard throughout the lab. I hurried to where Frisk was.
The experiment was very flawed, and I didn't know the outcomes. Trying to connect souls and transfer determination to Chara... that was risky.
Frisk was there, standing. Red pupils glazed around the room, a black mystery liquid covering part of her face. "Frisk!" I stepped towards her.
"No!" She yelled. Her voice split, reminding me of some sort of monster.
"I can handle this. I... I... can... 't..."
Your stubbornness,
Frisk was gone. Chara had corrupted her. The dust of everyone I had grown up with blew in the breeze. The weapon of murder laid in her hands.
We fought viscously. Attack, fight, kill, reset. Every time she slouched down, I would wish that she would come back. The girl I had fallen for. I sent a bone straight through her chest right before she would have stabbed me.
Frisk fell into a leaning position. My arms wrapped around her subconsciously. I heard a hitch in her chest that rose up and down. "Sans..." She whispered. "Frisk..?" Hope fluttered within me. "Sans... I should have listened to you, it was dangerous." Then, she winced. "It hurts so bad."
Guilt gnawed at my melancholic smile. "I'm sorry, sweetheart. I'm so sorry, I could've-" Frisk shushed me. "It's alright. It's not your fault. I'll... try to hold on longer next time, okay?" Her eyes glazed over. I quietly said, "Okay."
Your forgiveness.
Yet again, Fris- Chara stood before me, gripping a sharp blade. I sighed. "Let's get this over with, shall we?" Bone and blade clashed.
In the end, Chara raised her knife towards my crouched figure. This is it. I watched helplessly as she tensed to bring down the blade, and for a second her figure phased into Frisk's.
The knife drove down, sticking itself into the ground. She was back. Frisk looked up, "I can't hold her back for long. There's only one way to stop her." I felt myself being teleported.
A vast black space filled the room. "This is the save file. You know about it already. If I could just delete this world, we could go somewhere else, leave Chara behind. We can be happy."
A splitting image of Frisk and Chara began to, flickering and changing. "Yeah, we can be happy, Sansy! If you just- Don't listen to her! Why not? After all," Frisk grabbed her head. "We're one." They solidified to Frisk. She summoned the Menu. "I'm sorry Sans, but I can't let her kill you too. I'll be back." She smiled that angelic smile. "I love you." After pressing a quick kiss against my "lips", her hand pressed a button I couldn't read.
The world tore apart, and Frisk faded away. I was alone in the save file.
There was a day, I had promised you that I would always return your love. I didn't get to say it then. So I waited. Because you said you'd be back. I don't know how long I waited, but it felt like years. I was stuck.
I laid on the floor, remembering the good times. Thinking about what I would've said if somehow, you deleted Chara without deleting yourself. Then I saw it.
An error in the void. She was in the center of it. I got up and ran. "Frisk!" Having her in my sweet embrace made all that time worth it.
The female looked up at me and said, "I'm back." I grinned as tears trickled down my face. That grin fell when the save file announced that there was a malfunction.
I stared in horror as the brunette began to glitch and disappear. I reached out to her and screamed, "Wait, Frisk!"
Our hands touched before she was gone. I stared in disbelief. I didn't get to tell her I loved her, like I promised.
After stumbling to my knees and sobbing, I decided I shouldn't cry, because I knew you'd be back. You'd figure it out.
So I sat down, and waited.
Hi!
First things first, this isn't the actual plot of AfterTale, I am aware. And second, at the time I am writing this, it's very late where I am and I'm kind of tired. So this will definitely need revision.
I also wanted to remind you all that requests are open and definitely appreciated! I'm running out of ideas haha. The formatting of my oneshots may be weird since I write them on my phone, so apologies.
Welp, bye!
