About 2,000 miles in, Andy heard a *whirring* noise coming from somewhere up front. "Shit, we need gas", Jason exclaimed with a frustrated tone. Courtney pulled out her phone. "There is a gas station up the street a bit", stated Courtney. "How far?", Jason stated quickly. "A couple more miles", Courtney exclaimed. "Alright we should have just enough to get us there", Jason said sounding relived. When they approached the gas station, the car started too slow down and came to a halt just as they pulled up to one of the pumps. Jason told Andy," I'm gonna go inside and get food and drinks, you and Courtney stay here and fill up the tank". A few minutes had past when they finished filling up the tank. Then, all the sudden, a crash came from inside the store; they rushed up to the door and peeked in the window to see two men creeping up behind there father. then, one of the men attempted to put him into a chokehold. Fortunately, hearing the crash, Andys father caught them off guard before he was able to. Andy drew his .38 revolver from his pocket, turned around and had it pointed not 2 inches from the mans head. The man dropped to his knees scared for his life, and all the sudden the other man came out from the corner. He had what Andy thought figured was a Colt 1911 and pointed it at Jason from behind. As fast as lighting, Jasons dad kicked the man behind him and knocked his legs out from under him, pistol whipped the man in front, and unloaded two bullets; one into the right knee cap of the guy that tried to put him in a choke hold, and one into the forehead of the man who attempted to shoot him. Jason walked out of the gas station with blood splatters on his shirt. Courtney and Andy were both a little shocked. "Andy stated, " damn dad, You killed both of them". "No I didn't, im gonna let that one bleed out", Jason stated, pointing at the man with his knee cap shot and a welt on his forehead". "Oh....okay", stated Andy. Andy, thought to himself about the body. He had seen dead bodies before, but he never actually seen anyone get shot point blank. But Andy figured with the apocalypse, and the way his dad murdered those two men, that there was gonna be a lot more killing in the future after Jason made sure they kids were ok they all piled into the car and headed off for the shelter
