Natsu's Secret

CHAPTER 6

Lucy stayed at Natsu and Happy's house that night. She was going to stay with them for about a week, until she returns with Natsu.

"Thanks for lending me your bed, Natsu." The three was eating breakfast that, surprisingly enough, Natsu made (without burning down the kitchen).

"No problem Lucy." Natsu smiled at her and took a bite of his food.

"No offence Lushie, but who are you really?" The two looked at the clueless blue exceed and laughed.

"Non taken!" Lucy said and smiled at the dumbfounded exceed who didn't have a clue as to why they laughed.

"Sorry for not explaining buddy. Lucy is a friend I met at my parents house about two months ago." Natsu didn't exactly want to say that they were probably going to get married and neither did Lucy. So they decided that they were going to use that explanation the night before, incase anyone asked.

"Ohh." Happy turned his head to Lucy now. "Why did you go missing?"

The sudden question startled Lucy. "Well..uhm.. I guess you heard yesterday, huh?" the blue exceed nodded and waited for an answer. "Well.... I kinda ran away from home. But I think of it as a vacation!"

The dragon slayer laughed his lunges out. "Vacation, huh? Well, enjoy your vacation I guess!"

The two joined Natsu and they all laughed for awhile. After they caught their breaths they all helped and washed the dishes together.

"Sorry, you're probably not used to cleaning like this." Natsu said to the blonde as he handed her a towel to dry her hands with.

"Oh no, not at all. I actually like cleaning so I help out sometimes at home." The blonde smiled at the pinkette.

The pink haired mage smiled back at her, but didn't notice the presence of a certain blue exceed. "You looooovvveeee each otheeeeerrr~"

"Shut up cat!" Lucy said and glared daggers at him with slightly pink cheeks.

"Do you want to come to guild with us, Lucy?" The dragon slayer asked the celestial wizard.

"Sure, I have nothing better to do anyway!"

When they arrived the three went in through the guild doors as if it was the most normal thing for them to do, shocking everyone who witnessed their arrival. "Hi everyone!" Natsu yelled as per usual.

"Oh! You have Lucy with you!" Mira yelled back from the counter. Natsu looked confused. How come Mira knew who Lucy was? He felt a bit relieved seeing as though he wouldn't need the scenario he created in his head last night, thinking about how to introduce Lucy to everyone.

"Did you come to the guild before Happy brought you to me yesterday?" Natsu asked Lucy who took a seat beside him in front of the bar counter.

"Yeah! Everyone was pretty nice, except for the guy named Gray." She explained, whispering the last part only so that Natsu and Mira could hear. This made Natsu start laughing hysterically.

"I'm happy we agree about him being a jerk." The pink-haired guy said before he heard Mira faking a cough.

"Am I getting an explanation soon? Or are you leaving me to die out of curiosity?" She over exaggerated as much as she could.

Natsu and Lucy laughed. "There's nothing to be explained!"

"What do you mean nothing?! You're telling my newest ship spent a whole night alone and there is nothing to be explained about this suspicious situation?" She said earning the attention of other guild members, two of them being Macao and Wakaba.

"I see you Natsu! Getting them ladies laid!" Macao yelled, making Natsu and Lucy blush.

"We just talked!" Natsu said in his defense. Macao just shrugged his shoulders while Wakaba snickered in the background.

All heads suddenly turned when they heard a door closing upstairs. It was the door to the master's office. The tiny man was watched by his "children" as he went out of the room. "Leave the two alone. It seems their situation is bad enough."

Huh? Why would the old gramps say that? Did he figure out our identities? Natsu thought. Fortunately it seemed that that wasn't the case after all.

"I heard about your situation from Mira, about Lucy going missing." He answered as if he knew what was going on in Natsu's mind. Lucy nodded respectfully, being grateful towards the old man.

"Yeah, I was wondering about that. If you don't mind answering Lucy. It's okay if you don't want to talk about it since it's probably a personal topic." Erza said understandingly. It was certainly weird and unfair that she was so much kinder to a girl she met recently than to Natsu and Gray whom she had known for years.

"Well... I ran away from home. I needed a small break from all the pressure. I know that running away isn't the solution to any problem, but when Natsu explained how freely he was living, I got jealous and wanted to try doing the same."

"The you should also live as you like Lushie!" Happy exclaimed.

"I want to, but it isn't possible right now." She said looking down on her lap.

"Then what about joining our guild?!" Natsu suggested. "Even if you can't always stay in Magnolia, you'll always have a home and family here that you can run away to when you need breaks." He smiled.

"Really? You'll accept having me as a guild member even if I can't go on missions or be of use?" She asked, unsure of their reply.

The master spoke. "Of course, my child. You are always welcome to join our guild. And to tell you a secret, those old men over there never go on missions. They just sit there all day drinking up all of the guilds beer and drooling over women." He said pointing at Macao and Wakaba. Everyone, including Lucy, was laughing hysterically at the master's comment.

"Who are you calling old, you old geezer?! Have you looked in a mirror lately?!" Wakaba yelled.

After the laughing calmed down, Lucy started talking again. "Well then, I would be happy to join your guild!" She answered, making the other guild members cheer.

"That is great, my child! Mira Jane won't you give Lucy her guildmark?" Makarov asked, Mira nodding happily.

After she had officially joined the guild and gotten her guildmark, the first person she went to to show the pink tattoo on her hand was Natsu. "Look at my mark Natsu!"

"It looks great Lucy!"

"Now that Lucy has officially joined our guild, let's throw her a welcoming party!" The master yelled. "Mira bring out all the beer!" He commanded making everyone cheer out of happiness.

"Is the guild always this lively and rowdy?" Lucy asked Natsu while giggling at her silly guildmates.

"Yup! There's not a single quiet moment in this guild!"
