No Trust

Well I didn't expect this... trapped outside what I thought was a trap. It's been 8 hours up here and all I've done is sleep. Drones have been coming and going but it was far enough to put me in their blind spot. I've been trying to contact the others to see if our plans worked but no response so far. Maybe I should explain the plan to whoever watches or reads these.

We've been trying or rather I've been trying to find my dad Ethan Alester for the past few months because he is indubitably connected to all this - X, El Furic, all of it. But that process has become nearly impossible because we can't come to the surface as the entire point of hiding is to not be seen. But then Sam, all of a sudden had a brilliantly bad plan and of course everyone agreed on it. The plan was to put in a transmitter into one of the drones so that we see what it sees. Then there is a possibility to find my dad. Sounds fine so far, doesn't it? Hold on it gets worse. We didn't know the drone's design so we had no clue as to where to put the transmitter without it being noticed, so it was basically an antenna attached to a magnet with wires sticking out of it. Then of course is the problem of actually putting it in that monstrosity. Hence the grappling hook. I would attach myself to the drone, pull myself towards it and somehow open it, put the chip inside and come back down. It is an insane plan and it was a complete fluke that it worked. Anyway because I'm sadistic, I hacked the chip so that it transmits only to my nano gloves. I did this out of irritation but now it might be the only way back to the underground base. When they realise that the chip doesn't transmit to them, they'll have to come find me. I feel like a genius.

"THAT ABSOLUTE CRAPHEAD!" yelled Zack.

"What happened now?"asked Sam. They both stood next to the computer alongside Manuel who had his hand on the keyboard.

The computer screen glowed with large blinking phrase "ENCRYPTED!"

"That little idiot encrypted the transmission from the drone," said Zack, angrily.

"Well that little idiot did manage to hide something from you. Give him a little credit."

"Goddammit!" Zack slumped back in his chair."Nevermind this. How's Alex?"

"She broke her arm on impact. She'll take about two weeks to fully heal. Or something like that. She would heal faster except we don't have a med-bay."

"Is she awake?"

"Not yet..." said Sam with a sigh.

Zack got up from his chair. He out his hand on Sam's shoulder and said "She'll be fine." and walked away. "Besides, in an hour, my backup plan would have activated."

"I'm sorry, what?" asked Sam.

"I hacked the transmitter." said Zack waving a flash drive in front of Alex's face. "Soon, it'll transmit only to us. Ryan will be in the blind."

Alex paused for a second, breathed in and said -

"Zack, let me tell you, there are around thirty people down here who are all scared, hungry and hopeless. All we have is each other."

Zack groaned at the unoriginality of that statement. 

"Now if we start losing trust in each other, we are utterly and entirely screwed." said Sam, angrily.

"Don't give me that look. Ryan has been closed off and untrusting since our dad left. After the whole Hades incident, he hasn't been the same. After Jas... I think you understand what I'm saying. So don't blame me for doing this. He never trusted us from the start."
