Hi beautiful people, this chapter is dedicated to doctors, nurses (so my mother) but also people who are helping to keep our world running.
This is a new (long) story with Dark Forth because I feel like it. This story will have mpreg but without the omegaverse elements, just classical mpreg. So you don't like then don't read.
Enjoy!
General Pov.
Beam isn't sure how he is still standing. If it is the unhealthy dose of caffeine coursing through his veins or by pure iron will. All this for him to allow himself to fall in a heap over his creaky chair, wishing for a year forth of sleep.
He is the head of a small and poorly equipped hospital lost somewhere on an island most people don't even know. Everyone knows everyone so a new face always brings out some kind of mistrust before natural curiosity outweighs it.
Beam had been the subject of the villagers' scrutiny from the start.
A young freshly graduated surgeon who has been sent to this place because the hospital was lacking in the department of skilled practitioners. But reality has been harsher than what Beam had been told.
The hospital wasn't lacking but simply missing skilled practitioners so instead of assuming his role of a surgeon, Beam became a doctor, a nurse, a pediatrician and a medical secretary.
After all the hospital was closer to a general practice than an actual hospital.
Not everything had been bad. Thanks to Beam's help, the islanders' health has improved greatly after he gave them lessons concerning basic hygiene.
Nowadays, he is only sought after for common ailments or flu shots.
'Thankfully when there is a pregnancy, the family goes to the mainland hospital.' He thinks as his mind starts to drift away.
Beam wakes up startled. At first, he blinks blearily his mind clouded by the restless sleep, wondering what or who pulls him out of his sleep.
Another series of loud knocking over his door prompts him to stand up and to have a look at whoever seems to be so in hurry.
With his scruffy white medical gown, his hair sticking out in every direction and with crooked glasses, Beam walks hurriedly down the corridor, noticing only now that night had fallen during his nap.
The loud tapping against the front door increases with urgency and violence, Beam frowns a bit weary but he gathers his fleeting courage then he pushes the door opened to see several men wearing construction gears.
"See I told you he is still here!" The one who has been knocking at the door earlier says to his coworkers.
Then facing Beam, he starts explaining while showing him an injured who seems barely conscious who is supported by two men.
"A bag of nails and a hammer fell over him..." As he talking, Beam directs the workers to follow him inside while the others wait outside due to lack of spaces. "He had his helmet on thankfully but he still got hurt and he lost blood."
The workers help the injured man to sit on the examination bed. Washing his hands and putting gloves on, Beam takes bandages and sanitizing products to treat the wound.
"This is the fifth time this week." Beam notes as he removes the helmet carefully, he releases the breath he has been holding when he sees how non-life threatening wound. "This is far from accidental at this point, Khun. Did you call your company?"
