Hi beautiful people, here he comes! Our king!
Warning: blood and gore (but not too detailed).
Enjoy!
General Pov.
When Beam wakes up the next morning, dark circles are visible under his eyes.
'On the good side, I didn't drink anything last night.'
After freshing up he gets dressed then before locking the medical practice, he puts a signal on the door to inform he won't be there until late afternoon. An emergency number and his own are written at the bottom part of the paper just in case.
Beam jumps in the first bus which drives him to ferry shuttle at destination of the mainland town.
The trip, from the island to the largest nearest city, doesn't take more than thirty minutes.
Once on land, Beam flags a taxi which drives him to the hospital.Despite the dense traffic, he arrives right on time for his appointment. A nurse welcomes him and invites him to step inside.
Closing the door behind him, he turns to see a young man, wearing a white lab coat, scribbling quickly on papers. A tag with his name identifies him as Dr Kongthanin Phana.
The latter glances up at him, inviting him to sit with a nod.
"Sawadee Pha." He greets him as he sits down.
"Sawadee Beam. Where is Khun Ato?"
"The company has taken care of him." He answers with a slight frown before he sighs.
"I guess that's a good thing if they are willing to take their responsibility...but this is still fishy."
'Why did they have to wait this long to act? And why so many accidents?' Beam can't help but agree with Pha about something being not quite right.
Beam lets his eyes stray on a picture posed over a dresser with three teenage boys grinning at the camera. They are wearing high school attires, a white sleeveless shirt and blue shorts.
Beam can't help but feel nostalgic. Pha, Kit and him have been friends as long as he can remember, even going as far as to study in the same faculty.
'I miss Kit...I still wonder why our friendship has to end this way.'
At the end of their last year and because of a huge argument, Kit moves out of Thailand cutting ties with them.
"Beam?"
"Huh?" He blinks as he hears his name called by his best friend.
"I was speaking to you..."
"Oh...sorry! I was lost in my thoughts about this company." He lies, choosing to revive old memories.
Pha sighs before he repeats what he told him previously.
"I will need to take a blood sample from you to keep track of your health."
"Hum...You know I can do it..."
"Sure." Pha levels him with a pointed stare making Beam feels like he is a child being caught by an adult as he steals a candy. "But I am your appointed doctor so stop complaining. You have the ability to carry children thus your health needs to be monitored strictly."
Beam rolls his eyes, already knowing his friend's speech by heart.
It isn't something as rare as it has been at the beginning of the twentieth century.
