Nicki's pov

Today was the day I had to meet August in prison with Nia and my lawyer. We also had Merideth come in with us in case we needed to certify anything. I wore my vintage brown dress and a matching blazer with my black 6 inch heels with a pinch of red on it. I also kept my makeup pretty simple and added some mascara and red lipstick. I was ready. I took my Christian Dior bag and left off. I called my mom to babysit Nicole and J-J.

At prison offices

We all walked into the interrogation room to settle everything before we headed to August and his lawyer. He wore a black suit and tie, I must admit he looked real fancy. I was planning on getting my life back together and carry on with my book, family and career. "Good day", my lawyer said and took a deep breath before we all seated ourselves on the chair. " Now, Mr. Alsina, let's hear it", she added with a slight British accent. He looked down and licked his lips folding his arms over his fully tattooed chest. "I didn't do nothing! That man is blaming me for s★ ", he shouted angily. Both Nia and I raised our eyebrows. I crossed my leg over the other.

"Really August? Nia's ex boyfriend told us that you bribed him into killing", i paused "MY TWO KIDS!!!", I basically screamed of anger.

"Ma'am please calm yourself", August's lawyer said.

" Oh, he told YOU that?", he smirked.

"Now tell me; why in the hell would I do that s★ huh?", he asked calmly. He seemed to be enjoying this.

"Because you wanna get back to me for divorcing you August! ", I answered. He laughed. Still sitting back on his seat "I'm long over your a★ Nicki, I've got all I want and more! I just want to get out of here because I'm being falsely accused", he said.

"I think we need another witness", Nia's lawyer said.

"I'll call the two other people", My lawyer said softly and left the room. The room was silent thereafter. " I hope you rot in prison August! What if my kids died with Nia then what? How would you live with yourself, huh?", I shouted wanting to grab him in the face until Nia pulled me down. "Well you guys can't prove anything, you ain't got proof so this is a f★ waste of precious time", he said. Two people walked in and immediately Nia looked down when she saw that one of them was her ex. " Don't", I held her shoulder "it'll be fine Nia".

"Okay so these two are witnesses to your actions. Would you like to tell us what you saw before the fire?", she said and looked at the witness. I could see that August was burning up inside so a smirk ran across my face.

"I-I saw this man", she pointed to Nia's ex "he was walking to the back of lil Nia's house and I didn't take it seriously so I stepped back into my house then the next thing I knew was that the house was on fire. He larked the car up the road as far as possible", she said.

" And you", she looked at Nia's ex.

"August man, just admit it! It's over"

"We're not blaming each other on this so just tell us what you saw!", my lawyer demanded.

" I did it! August told me that I was going to get $1 200 from him AND I'll get back at Nia for breaking up with me", he said.
