An Edvy Story

PART 6- Separation

Envy and Lust walked through the island quickly.

"Lust, aren't we going to look for it?"

"No, we don't have time."

"What why?"

"Something has come up. We need to report back to Father."

Envy stiffened just the slightest bit. "Are you..." He trailed off already knowing the answer. He feared for the worst to come.

He swallowed, now chill as a cat. "So...what's our next move?"

Lust licked her teeth slowly. "Father has a new assignment for us."

"Oh goodie."

Lust quickened the pace. "Come on."

*I apologize I forgot that Envy destroyed Ed's automail arm. I will fix the mistakes later in the earlier parts that say that Ed has both of his arms, REMEMBER THAT ED ONLY HAS ONE OF HIS ARMS RIGHT NOW. (I am so sorry for any confusion)

"Dammit..." Edward struggled against the ropes that confined him to a palm tree (that strangely reminded him of Envy). Lust had tied him up right before the duo had left.

Ed couldn't believe that Envy had walked out on him. He didn't even look back. And Ed didn't have his automail arm that he could have easily have transformed into a knife and free him from his binds.

Edward tried one last time to break free but could did not succeed. He slumped against the tree, defeated.

Just then he heard the pounding of footsteps. Alphonse suddenly appeared in front of him.

"Oh my gosh! Edward!" Al bent down, untying Ed. "Teacher! Winry! I found him!"

"Al! Thank goodness. I'm kind of in a jam."

Izumi came out from the bushes, followed by Winry. Edward sighed with relief at seeing his friends, and then realized the worst.

Winry was staring at him. 

"Hey Winry...so....you look nice today!" Edward said feebly.

The pain came quickly to his head, and Edward to see Winry holding a bloody wrench. "DUMBASS! What the fuck happened to your arm???? Do you have any idea how long it took to fix it last time?? My intuition told me I had to bring a spare arm, and it's a good thing I did!"

Edward chuckled nervously, but then reallized Izumi was looking at him. 

"Well, Edward." Izumi started. "It looks like you did learn your lesson while you were here, didn't you? Who did this to you, Ed? The homunculi?"

Edward nodded. "Lust...and Envy."

"Hm. Do you know why they were here?"

"No. But I think they were looking for something."

Izumi's eyes widened slightly, but she blinked and she was back to normal.

"Brother. What exactly happened to you?" Al said.

"Heh, it's a long story. I'll tell you later. For now, we need to find out what the homunculi are up to." And find Envy, Ed added silently.

They four made their way back to the boat, and then travelled back to Izumi's place.

Winry fixed up Ed's arm while the group talked.

"I need to go to Central." Edward said. "That's most likely where the homunculi are hiding."

Izumi nodded coldly. "And then?"

Edward didn't have an answer for this. He just wanted to find Envy.

He then felt a surge of pain as Winry connected his new arm to himself. 

"There, good as new. AND YOU BETTER NOT BREAK IT AGAIN." Winry glared at Ed.

"Thanks." Ed flexed his automail, trying to get used to it. "I'll be on my way now." He immediately dashed out the door, not wanting his friends to follow. He had to go alone. He could hear his companions calling after him, but he didn't turn back. 

Was this how Envy felt when he left him? And also what exactly were the homunculi looking for? And why did teacher react when Ed said how the homunculi were looking for something?

Well, Ed would find out.
