It has him firmly by the upper arm, slowly elevating its scythe towards his face. The sharp blade begins to glow a deep purple that matches its eyes and power vibrates through the room. He struggles without success, the demon controlling him with ease. I run towards him without hesitation and with absolutely no form of weapon or protection. I can see the horror in his eyes as the scythe gets closer and closer until the demon places the tip of the blade to his head. His eyes roll into the back of his head and he begins to spasm, light cutting out from his body.
I keep running towards the demon with little regard for my own safety, without Jayden I don't know what I would do in this goddamn haunted hospital. The light seeps through holes in his body, expanding with pace and filling the room with a blinding rage. Soon his spasms slow, his life slowly being drained from him. His eyes come to a close, his shoulders sagging, his head dropping forwards.
"LEAVE HIM ALONE!" I jump towards the demon fueled with rage, it turns its head towards me, releasing its hold from Jayden's arm and grabbing me by the throat. My vision blurs and my body begins to lose all feeling and darkness engulfs me.

"I just want to see you, please!" she pleads from the other end of the phone. "I'll drive up to see you today,"
"Mum, I told you I'm super busy - I'm sorry," the woman sits at her office chair, phone held to her ear by her shoulder while she scrambles to type.
"4 years, I haven't seen you in 4 years and I miss my daughter -"
"Mum, we've got our whole lives." The woman says head still stuck in her work.
"I just miss you so much, please. I'll drive up and we can at least have a quick coffee. I won't take no for an answer!"
"Oh my god mum, if you're that stubborn I'll drive up when I've finished work!" the woman says finally giving up in frustration. "But I can't promise you with a time."
"Thank you darling, this means the world to me - "
"Yes mum, now I need to get back to work. Talk later." she hangs up the phone and resumes her work.

I awake on the floor, Jayden on his knees shaking me with fear.
"Alissa, you saved me!" He helps me to a seated position, he looks as pale as a ghost, his emerald eyes now a dull grey. He looks - almost deathly.
"Are you ok?" I ask with concern.
"I - I don't know," he admits, he looks back towards where he almost lost his life.
"I had another vision," he continues. "But - this time felt different."
"What do you mean?" I ask.
"This time I saw through his eyes, I felt - everything." My eyebrows furrow in confusion, my mind begins ticking over, all the visions rushing through my head. I begin to speculate, connecting the dots that sit scattered in my head. It paints a picture, and I'm not sure I want to see the finished product. But for the safety and sanity of me and Jayden, I need to know for sure, knowing full well it may be the difference between life and death.
"Jayden - " He looks to me. "I need to talk to that demon."
