-Barley-
Barley enters the house having just arrived back from trying to find a replacement headlight for his van. He finds ian eating a piece of toast with jam on it.
Ian smiles a bit having just noticed him come in. "Hey barley. Did you find what you were looking for?"
Barley shrugs. "This day has not been great for van part questing." He makes his way to the table and fixes a few of the pieces that had gotten moved. "I wrote a campaign for you and mom to try." He says glancing over at ian. "It could be fun."
Ian shrugs and reaches for his backpack. "I would but i have to go to school i cant stay home and play quest of yore with you all day."
Barley watches him leave then his mom walks through the room and he raises his hand dramatically into the air. "Mother by birth. Wouldst you care to join me in epic battle."
"Not now honey." She kind of laughs it off as she continues to clean up around the house. "Colt is coming over."
Barley thinks hard for a moment he realized his mom was only like this when her boy friend was coming over. "He can play too." Barley suggests.
She pauses for a moment and shrugs. "I guess that's true but it will have to be later we are planning a date night tonight so we'll be busy."
"Oh." Barley sighs. "Ok, I guess I will go out on the town." He grabs his van keys and heads for the door.
"Stay out of trouble." His mother warns.
"Come on mom. I don't always get in trouble." He laughs and leaves through the front door. "Quest time!" He looks around with his hands on his hips. "What quest should i embark on today?"
His mom opens the door and sees him standing on the sidewalk. "I have a quest for ya." She says handing out a trash bag. "Put that in the trash bin for me."
"A grand quest!?! I shall complete it with haste!!" He takes the trash bag and runs to the garbage bin. He slams it in and kicks the trash can lid up from the ground and catches it and then slams the lid on top then he turns and gives his mom a thumbs up. "Quest complete." He says then he hops in his van and drives away.
She chuckles a bit looking at the dents in the can lid. "Everytime he takes out the trash a new dent appears. Well it could be worse." She goes back to cleaning.
-Ian-
On the other hand Ian had just arrived at school via bus and was entering his first class of the day. Everyone seemed to be buzzing with the latest gossip of the day and he could have sworn somebody in the back of the room had said new student.
He turns to the person sitting next to him. "Whats going on?"
"Oh, you hadn't heard?" The teen cyclops says with a smirk. "We have got two new people that transferred here from another school."
"New students?" He nods as he thinks about that. "It isn't often we get new people. Having two at once is amazing."
"Better yet. I heard they were elves." He chuckles nudging Ian's arm with his elbow. "Not a lot of those around these days either.
Ian pauses for a moment. Could that be true? Could elfs from another town have moved to his town?
The teacher enters the room. "Alright everyone settle down." She starts. "We have a new student in class today. Her name is linda. I expect you to welcome her and be nice. She wont know where classes are or how to get around in town, so i'm assigning a personal guide to help her."
At this moment the new student walks in. She has long light purple hair and dark purple eyes. She stands in front of the class and bows slightly.
Ian feels his breath catch as he realizes he instantly had a crush on her.
