Elizabeth Schuyler was in a graceful state. Being in between sleep and wake but being able to smell the bacon radiating from downstairs. This influenced the dream she was having. But, suddenly,BEEP, BEEP, BEEP.
"Eliza! It's time to wake up!" she heard her sister, Angelica, call from downstairs. Eliza groaned, throwing the blankets off. "Eliza?"
"I heard you, I'm coming," she replied, swinging her legs off the side of her bed. Looking around at her room in a haze, still not fully aware and awake. She briefly looked over to her alarm clock and sighed.
September 6th.
First day of 11th grade. Eliza had been dreading it, but there was no outrunning this day now. Her feet picked up and sat at her vanity. Quickly, Eliza turned on the lights, covered up some of her acne scarring and new arrivals, added some blush, and put some highlight on her cheekbones and nose. Finally, she took out her favorite lipgloss and put some on, then pressed her lips together.
"Eliza for god sake! We're going to be late if you don't hurry up!" Angelica frantically yelled, trying to speed her sister up.
She could hear her other sister, Peggy, getting anxious and frustrated. "It's 8:30!"
It took five minutes to get to school, and it started at 8:45. Eliza always tried to wake up early. She had multiple alarms set to wake her up but her sleep schedule was so thrown off. Strolling over to her closet, she picked out something to make a good impression. After this, she'd be wearing sweatpants and hoodies every day. Eliza found a jean skirt, black crop top, and blue flannel. She accessorized with a black, off-white belt. Yeah, her family was wealthy, and they didn't care to hide it.
While running down the stairs, she was frantically putting her butterfly earnings in and slipped on her white airforce ones.
Eliza had always looked up to her sisters, especially Angelica. Angelica is in her last year and is popular and outgoing, Eliza is shy and reserved, while Peggy is in 10th grade and is just--
Peggy.
Eliza observed what her sisters were wearing. Angelica had a pink crew sweater on with high waisted mom ripped jeans. While Peggy had chosen to go for a yellow plaid mini dress. Any other day, Eliza's 'mom' side would've come out and scolded Peggy for wearing that, but today was not that day.
"There's the woman of the hour. Now let's go before we're late!" Peggy practically screamed, running out to Angelica's car.
"Bye girls." their mother waved, coming out with a plate of breakfast for Eliza. Angelica just grunted, following Peggy to her car. "Eliza, take this."
"I'm not hungry."
"You have to eat Eliza, you're gonna starve," she whined, concerningly.
Eliza sighed, look a piece of bacon and shoved it in her mouth. "I'll eat at lunch." she then followed her sisters to the car and buckled herself in.

Time passed quickly. They were at school in what seemed like the blink of an eye.
Everyone was piled in the hallways, trying to find their homerooms. Most of the latecomers were especially frantic, including the 9th graders. Eliza found her way to her first period/homeroom class. Being one of the last there, she found a chair near the back where no one was sitting and took her place. She looked around and took out her binder and notebooks. She scribbled out a title in some of her favorite pens and then left it on her desk for the welcome to begin.
Of course, English had to be her first class.
She heard the bell ring and looked toward the door as it squeaked open. A boy she had never seen before walked in with one of the infamous guidance counselors: Ms. Jefferson. The mother of one of Angelica's friends: Thomas. Eliza sighed and looked straight ahead. She thought she had known everyone in this school by now because of her sister. But, this boy seemed different.
He was so freaking hot.
But, Eliza wasn't interested. She had so much going on in her personal life that she couldn't focus on this stranger, whose hair was so messy but so perfect--
"Elizabeth!" Ms. Jefferson snapped, causing Eliza to jolt in her seat. She just nodded, not being able to find words to say out of shock and nervousness. "This is Alexander, he's new, and I'm placing him next to you."
Holy crap.
Eliza gulped and just nodded again. She slumped back in her chair while he sat next to her. Her cheeks started burning up and felt anxiety like never before.
"Hamilton," he said, looking over at her.
