No, they didn't have sex.

It was simple, just a kiss.

Well, maybe not just a kiss.

More the beginning of the story.

Their story.

It has been a week since the kiss. They hadn't discussed it and their relationship wasn't really affected anyways. This didn't change the fact, Eliza was confused. She had no idea where to go from here. But, she had one person in mind who she could ask.

"Angelica," Eliza said softly, opening the door of her room. "I need your help."

"Are you okay?" she asked, concerningly and looking up from her phone.

"Yeah, I just- I'm terrible with anything along the lines of boys." she bit her lip, looking at her sister's facial expressions shift.

"Did something happen with Alex?"

"Maybe--"

"Eliza!" Angelica screamed, smiling and running toward Eliza. She pulled her onto the bed and looked into her hazel brown eyes. "Spill. Everything. Now."

Eliza explained everything that had happened the previous week. "Then we- kissed."

Angelica fell back onto her bed and looked up at the ceiling. "Okay. So, just a kiss?"

"Well, my first kiss," Eliza replied shyly.

"I knew that." her sister laughed, sitting back up.

"How?"

"Because I knew you would tell me when you had it, and I was right." Angelica smiled and stood up. "Okay, so this is what you're gonna do..."

Angelica told her a well-thought-out question that sounded like a script.

Like something, she'd said before.

Whatever, it was the only thing Eliza had to rely on. Plus, her sister always knew what to do which is why she could always rely on her. The thing is, she just didn't know when to ask.

Today, the alarm clock almost caused Eliza a head injury as she leaped out of bed.

"Eliza! We have to go early today," Angelica whined from downstairs. Eliza got up and threw on her jeans and the hoodie Alexander had given her. Her offering of it back to him was refused so she had been wearing it a lot lately. It quickly became her favorite one.

Her limbs felt numb as she dashed downstairs and ran out the door with her sisters and got into the car.

"It's so early." Eliza yawned.

"I have to get there early in order to set up for debate club today." She snapped back, obviously not in the mood to deal with anything today. "Come on guys, it's only 6:30."

"That's like two hours before I actually wake up!" Peggy yelled back, resting her head on Eliza's shoulder. She almost fell asleep when they finally reached the school.

"I'm gonna go park but I'll let you guys off here. Get coffee from the cafe or something. Love you guys." Angelica smiled and drove off, letting her sisters off at the front entrance.

Peggy went first to the door and let them in. "It's so quiet and like- no one's here." She whispered, leading them toward the library. Eliza slowly opened the door, trying not to make any nose. Looking around, there were only two or three people there.

"I'm gonna go get us some coffee." Peggy groaned, walking back out toward the cafe. Eliza slowly walked toward the couch where a familiar face was typing. As she approached, he noticed her presence.

"Hey." Alex smiled but looked so exhausted.

Eliza sat beside him and leaned back on the comfort of the couch. "What brings you here so early."

"I have an essay due that I'm just polishing off. But, I should be asking you the same question." His fingers were still typing quickly on his laptop as he tried to make conversation.

"Angelica had to be here early, but I guess I get a head-start on my project."

Eliza pulled her laptop out of her bag and leaned her head onto Alexander's shoulder while she pulled out her PowerPoint. She added her first slide as a title and then began feeling her eyes hang low.

"By the way, did you want to come over tonight?" Alex asked casually, but she recognized that he had tensed up a bit as he awaited her response.

"Sure."

Eliza texted her sisters where she was to let them know she was safe as they arrived at Alex's house. He opened the door for both of them and looked around at the small bungalow. It felt more home-like than Eliza's because it felt as if it was actually filled with life. Eliza's home was filled with expensive things just to show off their wealth.

"So, this is my place. I live with my aunt and her family." He said, leading her toward the stairs.

"Oh, are your parents still in the Caribbean?" Eliza asked. Alex tensed up.

She shouldn't have asked that.

"Um-" He started, facing toward the stairs. "My mother passed away while I was there. I'm not too sure where my father is though."

Eliza just looked at him, she felt terrible that he had gone through that. "I'm so sorry." She walked up to him and just hugged him for a good minute.

"It's okay. I'm past it." He replied softly, turning around in order to hug her back. "Anyways, let's go to my room."

He led her to a small room with a desk, bed, and T.V.

"Alexander!" a woman's voice, presumably his aunt, said while getting closer to the room. "Oh hey, who's this?"

"This is Eliza. Eliza, this is my Aunt, Anne."

"Oh, are you two dating?" She asked. Eliza was about to respond when Alex beat her to it.

"Yes, we are."

"Oh, alright. Nice to meet you, Eliza. If you two need anything let me know." Anne responded and left the room.

Eliza was even more confused now.
