The last class was flying with Hooch the quidditch teacher. She reminded me of an hark with those silvery eyes. This class had all the first years.
"Everyone pick a broom. And stand on the left side." She order we ran up to our brooms. "Good now right hand over the broom and in a firm clear voice say Up." She said I looked down at the wooden broom sitting on the green grass. I put my hand over it.
"Up." And the broom jumped right into my hand. As will as Lilly's we smiled at each other. It took a few more minutes for the rest of the class to get there broom up.
"Good now mount your broom, kick off the ground hard, hover for a moment, then came down. " She said as we mounted the brooms.
Fly just a little off the ground nothing is going to happen. I could feel my hands shaking on the wood. I can do this I will not panic.
I moved from foot to food. I kicked off the ground and hovered. So far so good. I looked down and saw the ground growing smaller and smaller by the second.
I could not breathe my hand did not won't to move I could no longer move. I was shaking I could feel my heart pound in my chest. My vision went cloudy. I could see my breath as the world darkened around me.
"Cat!" Came a cry but I could not move I was frozen. "Cat! Please open your eyes." I opened my eyes to see Lilly smiling at me. "That's it. I'm going to help you down." She said
"Down." I looked and the shaking and fear returned and the broom went higher.
"Cat! Cat! Don't look down just look at me." I opened my eyes to see her smiling at me. "That's it. Come on just push down on the tip and follow me. That's it you can do it." She said her voice was calming as she couched me lower. I looked to see how far from the ground and panic ran up my spine.
"Cat!" She called I could no longer breathe my vision went dark as the world disappear under it.
I opened my eyes to see an empty bed next to me and a white wall past it. I rolled over and saw other beds empty. "This must be the nurses office." I thought as I tried to sit up but a shot of pain ran through me forcing me back down to the pillows. A women entered and came over carrying a tray. She had a white dress on and a blue apron. Her golden hair was done up in a bin under a white scarf. She walked with such grace and determination to the side of my bed.
"Morning you had a ruff first day." She sat the tray down on the small table next to the bed.
"It feels like it." I said trying to sit up. She stoped me with a gentle hand on my shoulder.
"Easy you fell several feet off your broom. Her take this." She handed my a cup with some odd green liquid in it. I drank it and it tasted like strawberry. "That should help the pain." She said and she handed me several other bottles each getting worst in tast tell the last one made me gag as the sent of old stale food and rotting socks. Surprising the pain seemed to drift down as the darkness of sleep took over.
I spent the next several days drinking the stuff and sleeping tell I was able to sit up.
