My phone buzzed from the other side of the room as I laid on the couch, some random sports game playing on the television. I lazily got up and grabbed it, sliding it unlocked to see a text from Paisley.
From: Paisley - You wanna do something with me today? :D
That's a no-brainer. Ever since our date, my mind has been consumed by PaisleyPaisleyPaisley. The way we connected, the way she told me how much she meant to me, the emotion in our conversation, the way we kissed...
I was whipped. Although, I knew that a long time ago. But now, there's next to nothing I wouldn't do for that girl. And it scares me, how much I'm beginning to depend on her and care for her, because I haven't felt like this towards anyone since my uncle, and the amount of hurt from that situation only subsided totally when I met Paisley. But at this point, I have no choice. I have no choice other than to let all my guard down, because Paisley, she's already taken my heart and I don't really think I want it back.
To: Paisley - Hiiiiii. Yes, of course I do.
I'm not really sure what she had in mind, but I don't really care as long as I'm with her.
From: Paisley - Great! I'll come and get you?
To: Paisley - No, I'll come get you. I'm leaving now. What've you got planned?
From: Paisley - Alright. I'll tell you when you get here! :)
I hurried out to my car, hopping in and wondering what the hell she had planned for us today.
* * * * * * *
Twenty minutes later, Paisley was stepping into my car, a wide smile on her face.
"Oh God, what are you up to?" I asked as soon as she buckled her seat belt.
"What do you mean?" She asked, the smile never leaving her lips.
"You just look extremely happy." I remarked.
"I'm excited for today." She dead-panned.
"Yeah, what are we doing?" I asked, pulling out of the driveway.
"Well..." She started, looking at me. "I wanted to get a tattoo." She said, almost sounding like a question.
"You do?" She simply nodded her head. "Are you serious?" It was just so unlike her. I mean, I can't believe her mother agreed to this. "Does your mom know? What are you getting?" I bombarded her with questions.
"Harry, relax. Of course my mom knows. She didn't exactly agree to it but I'm 18 and I don't need her permission. If this is the most rebellious thing I ever do, she's got it pretty easy."
"I mean, I guess that's true. Look at my parents." I chuckled, but then stopped because it really wasn't anything to be laughing about. "And what are you getting? And where?"
"A quote. On my arm." She proudly stated.
"And what will the quote be?" I asked, wondering what she believed so strongly that she wanted to have it permanently printed on her body.
"Everything happens for a reason." Paisley stated, her words bringing a slight blush to her cheeks, but a huge grin to mine.
"I love that." I said simply.
"Really? So you don't think it's stupid?"
"What? Of course not. Why would you think I would think that?" I asked, curious as to why she thought I would have that reaction.
"I don't know. I know it seems cliche, but I honestly believe it with my whole heart. I've always thought that and especially after the last year, I know it's definitely true. In my life, at least."
