Chapter 22 - Breaking Point

╚═════ஓ๑♡๑ஓ═════╝

Just like that, the weekend was over. Monday approached as if it were going at lightning speed.

And like most Mondays, everyone was tired and groggy first period, which wouldn't be allowed in Porlyusica's classroom that day.

"B-b-but Ms... We're tired..." Jet complained, slouching over in his seat with a miserable look on his facial features "can't you have mercy on us and not give us a surprise quiz?"

Jet was not the only one with an attitude.

As soon as the bell rang that terrible day, Porlyusica had slapped papers on each of the students desks, telling them to start on the quiz that was worth half, or even more, of their grade.

Even worse, she didn't give any warning the week before about the quiz, giving the students no time to study.

"Just get over yourselves and get on with it! The faster you finish, the more time there is to rest!" the teacher shouted, having had enough of hearing all the complaints from each teen.

After yelling at her poor students, they got straight to work, no more whining about how much they didn't want to take the quiz was heard in that room for now.

The old woman sat comfortably at her desk and observed as all of her students coward over the paperwork in front of them.

How lovely it must be being a teacher, getting to watch as your students suffer.

"M-Ms P-Porlyusica...?" a quiet voice asked out loud, growing completely silent with the fear of being kicked out by the old teacher lady.

Porlyusica turned her focus towards Juvia, the girl who had asked the question. Just like the other students, she looked to be tired and dealing with many things. "Yes?"

Gray stopped writing on his quiz paper completely to focus on the conversation the two women would be having shortly. He kept his gaze on the paper which had many questions he was to answer before class ended that day, and just listened.

He was quite content on listening in, even if it made his quiz progress go a little slow. In fact, Gray was quite positive this had to do with something that had happened the last Saturday with him and the specific teacher of his.

"Y-You didn't give me a quiz paper..." Juvia said softly, and if Gray were correct, he supposed his classmate was looking straight at Porlyusica.

Gray listened in on silence, wasting his time on doing nothing while he could've been doing his work...

You could hear the smile in Porlyusica's voice, "I know. You don't have to take the quiz."

All students in that room became aware of the conversation between the two and immediately spoke up about their feelings at lightning speed.

They weren't even listening at first...

"So you let a lame ol'fiorean pass on the quiz but let your own Magnolian students suffer!?"
