Chapter 25 - Paper Heart

╚═════ஓ๑♡๑ஓ═════╝

Two weeks. Two weeks had gone by since Juvia last attended school and everyone was worried--her close friends, at least.

No ounce of explanation was given to any of those worried friends as to why she was gone. It left them confused and even more bothered by the girls' absence and they were starting to believe the worst had happened.

Meredy was losing her patience. She was as close as close could be to going over and speaking her mind to Dave about his possible involvement in his daughter being missing. But with some convincing from Jellal and Lyon, they were able to talk her out of possibly ending up in jail.

But, as thought by those concerned about her whereabouts, Juvia wasn't doing okay. The amounts of bruises on her body were too great of a number that it would've been called to attention by many bystanders--and Dave wasn't about to be caught. So, the cruel father didn't allow her to go outside until her body got semi healed.

The two weeks were spent curled up in her room with no food to eat or water to drink because she didn't feel like moving to go get it for herself. Dave sure didn't want to get her anything either--all he cared to put in her body were hurtful words.

She was completely broken, bedridden for the remainder of her absence as she sat in agonizing pain. Her whole body was sore, and the slightest movement would get her wailing out in pain. So she stayed completely immobilized, looking at the same spot on her barely stable ceiling to avoid the painful shocks of her damaged body for two whole weeks.

And when it came time that the bruises were healed, she could finally go back to school. The bruises had died down in color and were barely visible, so Dave allowed her to go the next day reluctantly.

Wednesday was the day she finally returned. She woke up, got ready - making sure to cover up the bruises that still had beaming color with the slightest bit of makeup - and was finally ready to appear back in the classes she was failing.

Before leaving the comfort of her bedroom, Juvia took one last look to be positive no remaining blemishes were visible on her skin; and with the quickest glance, she was able to conclude that she was indeed ready to face the outside world after two weeks of being locked inside.

However, she was caught in a trance as she looked back at herself, staring directly into her own reflection. She ran her hands all across her stomach and up, making note that she had gotten a lot skinnier. Juvia looked like a mess, and she couldn't help but point out every flaw of hers, truly unhappy with the woman she was looking at.

A single tear fell from her watering eyes before she was brought back to reality, swiping the rolling water droplet off of her cheek. Juvia sighed deeply as she turned around, grabbing her book bag and walking out of her door without a moment's glance.

She ran down the steps as she slung the bag over her shoulder, making sure to mentally prepare for her day back. And just as she made it down the stairs, her father had stirred from his slumber on the couch, sleepily looking at Juvia with pure hatred and a woman in his arms.

Juvia paid no mind to her man-whore of a father, tramping her way to the front door as to leave for her long day. However, before she could, her father spoke out in a groggy tone, making the girl stop dead in her tracks--"You should've never been born..."
