So you see Mr. Holmes, I'm dead on the inside. Jim Moriarty broke my soul." I smiled like a maniac at the look of loss on his face. He got out of the chair and turned around to walk out the door. I could have swore I saw his hand shaking. I was taken back to my cell, so I could replay everything that just happened. After a few days, they removed my straight jacket so I could eat, and A few weeks after that, Jim came back.
I was sitting on the floor of my room trying to remember all the lyrics to my favorite song, when alarms went off and red lights were brightening the hallways. Immediately three guards rushed into the room. One of them slipped on my tray. I used the distraction to my advantage by attacking the closest guard and stealing his gun. The rest was easy. I made my way out into the main hallway of the asylum, searching for a way out. As I was running down the hall, I saw the reason for the alarm going off, Jim. "You didn't tell anybody my secrets did you?" He asked.
"No, so why are you here? We had a deal." I said. He cooly replied, "Yes we did, but if you want to keep the deal sealed it'll cost you. I changed, my mind about our little agreement. I want, something else."I raised my gun and I pressed it against his forehead. He laughed loudly and without warning became dead serious. I stared at him with a look of confusion plastered on my face. Before I had time to blink, he was pointing his Beretta 92fs right at me. His cold, dark, unforgiving eyes stared right through my soul. The flash of red shining on his face, made him look like Satan on earth. I had nothing left to live for. He had taken the only thing in the world that I cared about, so I gave up. Trembling, I dropped to my knees in tears, and leaned forward until the barrel of the gun rested on my head. He smirked and pulled the trigger.
The gun didn't go off.
A/N Sorry for the short chapter, but I couldn't resist the urge to end it with a cliffhanger. My entire book actually started with the last paragraph in this chapter. I just wrote more chapters so it would make sense. Hope you liked it!
